6.5 Creedmoor

6.5 Creedmore

Kent Reeve has been shooting one across the course for a month or so. He told me it was very accurate and a pleasure to shoot.

It was originally designed as a AR-10 platform in 6.5 for use of VLDs. The fact is is going to be offered in factory loads was a real plus to some. What shoots well in a gas gun shoots even better in a bolt gun no surprise.

It is in a stiff world of competition and it will be interesting to see if the 6.5 Creedmore survives.

OK, at the risk of sounding stupid, what does the factory 6.5 Creedmor ammo offer non-reloaders that the factory 6.5x47L ammo doesn't?

Price

the creedmoore is cheeper from what I've seen,But the Lapua has argueably(spelling?) the better brass. Midway has 6.5 Creedmoore @24.00 a box in 2 bullet weights. The 6.5x47 Lapua @54.00 a box in 4 bullet weights

I shoot Highpower and aside from 223 shooters and a VERY FEW others...everyone handloads. There are a FEW who buy Tubb 6xc, but they are FEW and Far between.
Really...I shot a 260 short(22-250 length), 6.5-250, 260 NMC, 6.5xc and a host of other short 6.5mm cartridges. i found that they all shoot the same with a very slight difference in velocity. Every single cartridge was capable of sub 1/2 moa with little load workup.
Boots Obermeyer shot (pretty sure) a 6.5-250 and shot Amazing 600 yard scores! I have nothing against the 6.5 Creedmoor, but it is just more of the same with a cool name. If it does well or wins @ Camp Perry this year, the 6xc (which was the Holy Grail End All of X-course cartridges) will take a back seat to the Creedmoor.

For the handloaders & tinkerers out there ,their is no PERFECT case:D that's what keeps the game interesting:cool:
