Can .300 Savage dies be used to neck size a 30x47 case made from .300 Savage brass?
I have .300 Savage, .30BR and .308 dies on hand. When I searched nearly all of the sites I didn't see any 30x47 die sets. I am not a competition shooter, but have several nice target rifles including a tight neck .308 set for hunter class. I purchased a 30x47 Hart barrel chambered for this cartridge and need help.

Thanks.

I shoot 30/47 but never thought about using a 300 Savage resizing die. I used to use a shortened Wilson neck size 308 die which worked very well. I now use a custom full length 30/47 Redding "S Type" die. I sent them three fired cases to make the die from. I still use 300 Savage brass however.

Shortening your 308 die to 47mm from its present 51mm should do the trick.

Harrel's makes a 30-47 die for the Lapua brass, which should be fine for neck sizing only your 300 savage cases. Have you tried The Shooter's Corner? He sometimes has dies like this for sale.

Pete, nothing shows on Bob's list and I appreciate the tip on Harrel's.

I use the same Neil Jones die for my 30X47 and 308-.200 chambers. I make brass from 6.5X47, 308, 308 Palma or 300 Savage brass
