what is the velocity potential for 150 grain bullets in a 30x 284 in a 24 inch barrel? i would appreciate any hands on imfo. thank you br

wayne, i am having problems sending a message from my computer. i dont need load data at this time, i just need velocity potentials for 150 grain bullets out of this case out of a 24 inch barrel. i realize every barrel is different , just a ballpark number. thank you br

I have an old Hodgdon manual that states it has the same capability as 30/06 with lighter bullets. With 180 and up the bullet takes up too much powder space when kept to an 2.800 OAL. Makes sense, though I have absolutely no personal experience
 
Now this is out of a 30 inch barrel so expect to loose about 25 fps per inch.
Using H4350 with both, the 175 SMK can run to 3000 fps, and the 155 SMK at over 3200 fps even up to 3300 fps if you really smack the Lapua brass.

Tony is right on. This case does better with bullets from 175 to 190 grain, than it does in the 150 range. But it does very well, for a non-magnum.
