30cal HBRs

I see that there are many wildcat 30cal HBR rounds. I have a Remington classic in 300 savage. I was wondering if the 300 ihmsa would work since it is based on the 300 savage. Would it feed from the magazine? I have a 1 in 18 shilen barrel. I am going to use it in informal shoots and hunting with a max range of 200 yards. Will this work or is there a better round. the gun now aggs .812 for 5 shots with factory barrel. Any info would be very helpful.

30X47 Lapua

The 6.5X47 Lapua necked up to 30 caliber is a very good choice. It uses the same bolt face as the 300 Savage and 308 Win.

I was thinking about the 300ihmsa as it should only require just necking down and cleaning up the neck length as i am not the best when it comes to prepping brass.

It's pretty easy - -

to get 3000 FPS using 125g bullets in a 30-44 thru 30-47 cases. They are nothing more than a 300 Savage with it's shoulder pushed back. The 30-47 I have is the same case length as a 300 Savage. the 30-45 has been cut off, say about .040. I think the magazine would work with any of them. The necked up 6.5 X 47 shrinks the length of the case some; a mm or so I think but that doesn't mean a whole lot. It is also the easiest one to get dies for. Just ream the neck of a Std 6.7x47 die out to accomodate a 30, trim the base of the die the ammt the case shrunk and you are all set.
