30br 7ogive vs 10ogive?

Looking to buy a set of bullet dies for making bullets for my 30br for score gun. Am debating 7 or 10 ogive. What is everyones opinion on this? The current barrel is a 17 twist, zero freebore. The reamer is bassed on the original Robinett print with the neck opened up to .331

Thanks

I went with a 7 ogive on my dies. George Ulrich recommended 7 because they're easier to tune. Talking with .30-cal shooters that have shot both, they confirmed George's advice. Plus out to 300 yards, I'm not sure the added BC buys you much.

Thats kind of the way im leaning but i waited too long and George is no longer taking orders.

Go with a 7 to 71/2. You want a relative straight shank that will be .3081 to .3082 on the body at least 1/8 inch forward of the base with a gentle fall off to .308 just before it dives into the ogive.

Out to 300 yards, precision trumps everything. .

If you did go with a 10, that usually requires a longer jacket to get the length of the shank right. And usually that means a 118 grn or heavier bullet.

In my opinion, all a heavier bullet does is increase recoil at Varmint for Score yardages.

But that is just my opinion.
