If a person was to start shooting rimfire competition what custom action should one go with?
 
Now when you say custom, what do you mean? Custom built action or factory action to custom build from?

If you want a true custom action look at Turbo or Hall.

If you want to build off a known action for a custom gun, look into the Remington 40x or Anschutz 54 action.

I have never shot a Turbo or Hall, but if i had to choose between the two, I would probably get the Turbo.

At the ARA Nationals there was 12 Turbos and one Hall in the top 20.

This being an Indoor shoot with no wind. Their must be a reason for the Turbos to be way ahead of the rest.

Out front of what? Not trying to start anything but could anyone tell me of any one action that has won more than Harry's old suhl?Or Bob Barnharts 40x and Dearl Lanes time? Fellows you could get whipped by any action at any time I would just pick one and spend the rest of your time and money to find the magic lot of ammo and practice.Jerry thats my.02 worth

Nothing against the Turbo since I own two of them myself but two reasons for their popularity, 1. Cost, I believe the Turbo is cheaper than the Hall or Anschutz. 2. I believe that the Turbo is Calfee's action of choice (for the moment).

I don't know if Fred Jamisons 52 Winchester won anymore than the ones you listed but it sure did not win any less.

Could it be that the Turbo has better ignition than the Anchutz and Hall. I think Calfee has liked the Turbo For many years now.

Wonder how that old 52 would hold up today?
 
I think Calfee used to set the bolt back .050 to improve ignition on the Turbos. I'm not sure if Flash has modified the action since to make that change so that Calfee doesn't have to modify them now. As for the ignition on the Hall's and Annie's, I'll have to plead ignorance.
