Lapua Midas + shoots best in my gun.

Is it common practice to measure and group ammo by the rim thickness in order to maximize accuracy?

I have measured rims I have weighed rounds and I have still had the odd round known as flier.
If you feel confident that by measuring rims you are getting the best from your ammo then that in its self
could improve your results.

Top grade ammo has less variance. With that said I do know a few that check overall length and
concentricity.

Any sort of measuring ammo won't help anything at all. On the other hand, it won't hurt anything either. Do what you think is best and don't concern yourself with what others think and do. It's a win or lose proposition in all cases.
