223 how heavy a bullet

ehparis I learned most of the time 55/52 gr. bullets don,t like to much speed .
I,m loading 52gr. with AA 2230 about half speed . never over 2600fps .

I am shooting some very nice groups less then a 1/4 inch At 100 yards

lol......
so i guess my 52/53's doing 3500/3600fps at 0.2 dont really interst you ??
lol

No Mike it don,t . You have read speed kills right ?
I also believe speed is unnecessary . It dose barrels little good and just burns powder .

As for Heavey bullets I have shot some and the gun likes them . I,m talking about 60 /62 gr. bullets .
I only shot 100 yards and I have a lot of 52/53gr. so will shoot them first .

i'm waiting on the 68 gr report....
and i guess you got sierra all confused as they claim best accuracy with 52/53 with 2230 at 3000 fps
from a 1/7 twist colt ar15.....
shooting a 52/53 with 2230 at 2600 puts your burn pressure way too low for a clean efficient burn......not a good mix for accuracy.
ask anyone here about filling cases, and the proper pressure for a given powder....
more like wasting bulets and powder than accurate shooting.....
you need to be up over 3000 fps and over 24grs of powder to get reall accuracy.

Heavy bullets

Mike I have no idea what your drinking but pore me one . You can read the 68gr. bullet report next week or never . I really think your pulling my leg your not serious right ?

I may never shoot a 68gr. bullet (no need to). I,m very happy shooting 52/53 gr bullets and have lots of them . You do know 24gr of 2230 does fill the case right .

what did you do wash your cases and they shrunk ??
acc manual says 23.x to 26 gr for a 53.......at 2.225...and you say you are way longer.....thier min speed is 2800fps........
you started your thread with the plan to shoot 68's in a 1/14 twist...your plan not mine, i'm waiting on the results.....but if you shoot at 2600 fps with 52/53 and think "some" groups less then a 1/4 inch is accuracy, i will not expect much from you.
you do not understand powder.....

Mike you poor lost sole I never said I was planing to shoot 68gr. bullets . To be to the point I ask for opinions no more no less . I really thought I would NEED to shoot a LONGER bullet . I am thinking you are one more keyboard shooter . Please stop your starting to look bad and I don,t need that .

well this is from YOUR opening post:
"I,m think in rifle number two a longer (68gr.) bullet may be better to start with "
I never said I was planing to shoot 68gr. bullets.

gee your english comprehension needs a little work.

sorry i bothered to try and help......i have done significant work with the 223 with bullets from 45 to 80 gr, with more powders than i care to count, with twists from 14 to 7 and bbl lengths from 16 to 26 inches. reams of data. unlike you i actually know what i am talking about.
