220 Russian to 6 PPC

Doughnut

Just to interject, Genes method works great! I do about the same thing. If you know anyone who shoots a PPC short these are usually made with shorted 22-250 dies. I set my 220 cases back about 30 thou and size up to 6 and then turn with Pumpkin turners. These are awesome turners!!!! Cut right to the shoulder and seat bullets so the lands push the bullet back. I don't know my weight but I use 2015 or benchmark. I start at 47 clicks then 49 then 52. I do leave a light coat of imperial wax on the case so it moves free. I don't get doughnuts and the brass lasts well over a hundred loadings. I think The Pumpkin told me this at Ault. Can't remember? Anyway, I would like to try the 220 Beggs. Man, when a 22 is on they are hard to beat!! It takes me about 2 hours to turn 50 pieces. I use a case lathe too. Don's tools and a lathe makes the job more like easy part time. Thanks for all the info Gene!
