Who uses a 17 or 18 twist for the 30BR and why?

I have used 17, 17.5 , 18 and even a 19 twist. All work well with light 30 cal bullets in the 110-125 gr. range.

Keith, I have both, can't tell the difference.........jackie
The results have been answered; as to the "why", less twist allow use of lighter bullets which results in less torque at the fore end and less recoil.

Hi Keith. Just got the 18tw barrel done, dies ordered,stock being hydro dipped in red/graphite pattern. Need to fireform brass and work up a load. Planning to bring Sandy so she can show you how to shoot. I almost feel sorry for you. I am getting tired of her whipping me. Hope to be there in April. Going to be close on time. I had the state shoot on my calender but Sandy covered up the calender and We missed it. Brain cramp. Don

Don, Just keep Sandy on the PPC and you might have a better chance with your 30
