1000 yard Postal Matches

This past season there was a 1000 yard postal match held between the Virginia 1000 club and the Canberra Rifle Club (Australia). The postal match was the brainchild of Aussie Dave Goodridge. Dave contact me earlier this year as IBS President. I, in turn, contacted Lee Fischer and our 600-1000 Committee with the proposal. I believe Dave had already been in communication with the Virginia club. Anyway, the matches were a success and written up very well in the magazine, Australian Target Rifle. Attached is a .pdf of the magazine article.

Thanks to all (particularly Dave Goodridge) who made this cooperative event possible!

Jeff,
Having been involved in the Australian end of the postal match I would like to thank the IBS, yourself Jeff, Lee Fischer and the committee and members of the Virginia Rifle Club for having the foresight to support this event.
1000yd BR is well established in the USA but less so here in Australia. Being able to shoot in matches such as the postal shoot and compare results is an excellent way to gain support for 1000yd BR here by giving the matches an international flavour, it will/has aided in the growth of 1000yd BR in Australia thanks to your support.
To Dave Goodridge .. well done on arranging such a great event old boy.
Hope to do it all again next year. Till then good luck and good shooting.

I too would like to thank everyone involved. Dave has done a lot of work organsing this, and all I can say is well done champ.

Looking forward to March!

Cheers
