    Origins of Benchrest Competition

You Wichita is 152 earlier than mine. Some of the older BR rifles can be bought quite cheap which make them a nice option for a club rifle. Regards Ian

    Hines jackets

I've never had any bullets on the .750 jacket but have shot a few 1000 made on the .790 and a whole bunch more made on the .825 jacket and the 14tw has been my go to barrel, I tried a 13.5 and a gain twist and they didn't seem to shoot any better than the 14tw.

    Origins of Benchrest Competition

The Benchrest Primer is a pretty late collection of articles from Precision Shooting magazine. Some of the earlier books may contain more information: Modern Accuracy L. R. Wallack The Story of Bench Rest Shooting 1951 Accurate Rifle Warren Page The Ultimate in Rifle Precision Townsend Whelen...

    For a lefty which action

Lets get this back on track, left bolt right port rimfire actions There have been very few suggestions about this but from what I can gather a .750 tenon diameter is ideal for the barrels used. This rules out large tenon actions unless very precise work is carried out on them to reduce the...

    World Rimfire Championship 2024 (WBSF)

What are the thoughts of the rimfire countries to adding 100m score matches to the WBC? I think Australia bought this up at the delegates meeting?

    For a lefty which action

My thoughts about the stock for rimfire would be that a Stright line stock would be more consistent compared to a sloping butt like used in centrefire. Especially if shooting free recoil, the bullet in a rimfire takes longer to exit the muzzle than in centrefire. I do like both of these stocks...

    For a lefty which action

Is the Vudoo a large tenon action? there is an interesting thread regarding tenons. The straight line stock is legal here and is what I would want. Also legal here is a magazine and given the speed advantage of a magazine some have been successful exploiting this. i have seen some pics of Jim...

    For a lefty which action

I do shoot centrefre Benchrest and use a left bolt right port action, so I don't want to change to shoot rimfire Benchrest, so no right bolt right port left bolt left port suggestions please. I'm specifically looking for a left bolt right port. Who makes a left bolt right port rimfire action...

Tenon length on a Nesika Model T action.

The Nesika J was 0.965, which is the same as the TPE. I think the T is the same as the J but not sure

Pedro thanks for sharing everything you have shared, it is very enlightening and confirming in many ways also. Where can the RS tuners be purchased from? Thanks

    Wichita action, Seely Masker gun

Al I remember reading that about the Wichita, mine has the removable trigger hanger, so no need for a hole in the stock to remove the trigger.

    Searching for extractor

Some parts for older out of production actions are hard to find, but sometimes something else fits........it's just a matter of finding it. I needed an extractor for a Wichita bolt in 6PPC, I got one from someone and it didn't fit, it was too narrow. Now I haven't got any spare Wichita parts or...

Benchrest Heavy Class and Tapered barrels (information required)

I have no idea if a parallel barrel shoots any better than a tapered barrel, I'm assuming most countries that participate in Benchrest have adopted the NBRSA rules and therefore use tapered barrels, if that is the case then Australia might be the only country in the world that actually allows...

Benchrest Heavy Class and Tapered barrels (information required)

WBC rules require a tapered barrel in HV & LV. The rule is Barrel May be 1.25” in diameter up to 5”ahead of bold face.- From this point it must taper to 0.900” at 29" Given the WBC rules were developed from the NBRSA rules I am assuming no one has proposed any changes to these rules. The...

    Lathe

I'm also a hobbyist and I bought a 16 x 40 that is sold in Europe as the KnuthV turn 410. When I bought it I fitted a Newall DRO with CSS. I've found it to be an excellent lathe, although a bit long through the headstock for short barrels, but this can be worked around. One of the features I...
