Interesting Day With A Scope At The Range

Jackie. I just tried the same thing Jackie, I was looking for a scope to put on one of my sporter rifles and found one of the 36x Leupolds you froze for me. I thought it was a long shot, but mounted it in non adjustable Kelby rings and went out and shot it. It wasn't off by much so I rotated...

    2015 Cactus Classic Results

Thanks David, Eric, and crew, I also want to express my appreciation for all that you did to make the Cactus Classic a first class event. I want to also encourage all those who haven't gone out and competed for a while to dust things off and make an effort to get back to a match. I haven't...

    300WSM Brass

I have a bunch of 300 WSM brass. I purchased about 1000 pieces when the WSM first came out. I have both Norma and Winchester. I know it stinks when you want to shoot matches and can't get components. If anyone really needs some send me an email. I bought it a long time ago so I just want a...

    New Berger BR Bullet

Don't be afraid of the low nodes. I have been able to shoot .12xx to .14xx back to back 5 shot aggs with 27.6 gr of 133 in my rail gun. When it works the groups are TINY. Those aggs were at registered matches and not just cherry picked groups on a day of practice.

Gap space, and that dirty little corner

I just wanted to clarify that when I said 8208, I was talking aboput the pulldown 8208 we were getting back in the early 90's. If anyone is really duplicating T powder then you will need to be aware of what comes with it (it leaves more carbon than 133!). Now that being said, the best T or...

Gap space, and that dirty little corner

Boyd, You are absolutely right on track to think that 133 has spoiled you. I had some 8208 blend that would flat out shoot dot's. The problem was the cleaning it took to keep it shooting that way. I eventually decided that it was easier to "manage" my 133 loads than to keep the barrel clean...

Does a little difference in case length matter?

I think it helps to keep them trimmed all the same. The fact that you asked the question means you will have some doubt if you don't keep them trimmed. I didn;t think it would matter much and then started to notice that i seemed to shoot better after they were all trimmed. I can't prove it...

New Berger 6mm BR Column Bullet

Eric, This seems like a good time and place to say how much I appreciate what you at Berger Bullets are doing. I have been eating up these new long range bullet designs that you have been putting out and I am so impressed with the results I have been getting. The new bullet designs are really...

    7 / 300 Norma Magnum

Any idea what velocity that 180 JLK was going at 86.5 gr of Retumbo.

    7 / 300 Norma Magnum

I just ordered a reamer for the 7/300 Norma Magnum. I will be shooting the 180 Bergers and eventually the 195 Berger Hybrid. Is anyone else out there using this chambering for 1000 Yd competition. I'm hoping to get some idea of what powder is working. I have a 7 Lapua and Retumbo seemed to...

    6PPC/6mmBR

I think most shooters are lemmings. That would seem to indicate that the 6ppc must be the best short range cartridge. If someone was winning consistently with something else, most shooters would switch to it in a hurry. :D

    Interesting Bedding Technique

Boyd, I have run this around in my head more than I care to admit. The thing I keep coming back to is a fixture for BR style stocks that the tracking surfaces fit in ( or are centered in), that supports a mandrel machined to fit the action. You could glue the action with absolutely no stress...
