It means the brass seals the chamber better. Can be as simple as having the web of the case hard, and the neck and shoulders a bit softer. Work harden the brass, and you get dirtier chambers from a less effective seal.

Bottom line for any load is "how goes it group?" In another shooting sport (long range highpower), there was s discussion about using AA-2520 for 1000 yard loads for an international competition. It produced low ES and SDs - and would not group. Since Varget was not available in the US...

Am curious - what ever happened with hydroforming cases? (Hydraulic case forming.) A bit messy, but once the rig is complete, the amount of wear on the "barrel" is minimal "per shot". Best of all, no COW, no live primers, or powder involved with using the system.

In no order: Varget; IMR-4895; H4895; Reloder 15 N140; N150; N540; IMR-4064. Top velocity is obtained using the slower powders (Varget, 4064, Re15, N150, and N540.) The 4895s give you great accuracy, but not the top speeds. Your call. Hope this helps.
