It's not bedded. The trigger is smooth and relatively light. I use a long leafed sand bag. I shoot on calm days or watch a flag down range before shooting. I use two piece dies... RCBS I've tried weighing cases, neck turning, volume, primer pocket uniforming, deburing flash holes, rotating...

I'm guessing they aren't trued at the factory... the receiver face and bolt lugs lapped. They are really accurate to begin with but was wondering if hand loading procedures might do it better. I was on another site where a guy mentioned Forster decapping rods with the expander mid way up the...

    Throat length in .284 repeater..

Nothing you can do.... the mag box dictates COAL. If you load one at at time, that's another thing. But, you want it as a repeater, correct? I noticed rounds with flattened tips on my 270, so I had to shorten the COAL to the box mag box. Polemer tip bullets could be the answer, unless your...

    bore solvent

That's the kind of answer I've been waiting for... Sounds like a plan..... Thanks Steve. As far as my pistol, I was shooting Speer WC's which leaded real bad. But know it's jacketed or mixed alloy.

    bore solvent

Yeah #9 works great, but slowly. I see build up where the lands meet the grooves. One day I was cleaning my revolver with Shooters Chioce and Kroil.... lifted up the gun from the table and saw a streak of lead trailing from the muzzle back to the breech.... I was impressed. Wonder if it'll work...

    bore solvent

Hi, I've been trying many different bore solvent on a used rifle and have some discoloration at the muzzle. I'm assuming that maybe it will be that way and I have to accept it, or maybe it can be corrected. Without a bore scope, it's really difficult to see the left over, burnt carbon from...

    meplat uniforming hollow point bullets

I read recently about hollow point bullets..... a cavity or hollow in the bullet nose (hollow point) to shift the projectile's centre of gravity rearwards.... Holding the bullet and looking at the hollow point under a magnifing glass, you can see the hole isn't level on certain bulllets...

    twist rate and bullet length

the sierra 55BK show it needs 1:14 at 3200 fps..... the Nosler 55 BT shows it needs 1:13 at 3000 fps..... both based on bullet length and not by weight.... your scale shows...at different velocities that push the twist too far out of wack.
