difference between 40x and standard Walker trigger

Rodtka, Backlash is the connector not being fully seated or loose when cocked? I guess. IF,IF, you have ANY discernible BACKLASH between the TRIGGER LEVER & CONNECTOR you have a DANGEROUS, IMPROPERLY adjusted trigger group. The adjustment design & ball bearing 'tis the reason why the 40X...

difference between 40x and standard Walker trigger

There's more to the TIMING issue than simple adjustments. As stated, the ONLY difference between a 40X Repeater & 700 trigger group is the pull weight adjustment modification. Operation between the 2 is exactly the same. The 4OZ experiment was accomplished on my personal equipment & only my...

difference between 40x and standard Walker trigger

The 40X Repeater & 700 trigger groups use the same pull weight spring. The 40X Repeater pull weight screw is re-located/diagonally & pushes a .100" ball bearing w/ a pointed #8 headless screw positioned fwd of the trigger lever & aft of the bolt release lever tab. The 40X trigger group...

difference between 40x and standard Walker trigger

There are 3 variations of 40X trigger groups. 1. International w/ adjustable fwd/aft trigger shoe of which only a dozen or so were manufactured by Remington & most manufactured by R.W.Hart. 2. 40X Repeater Trigger Group of which is a modified 700 trigger group with a re-located pull weight...

    Soldering a lug.

Gene Beggs, + + Brickeyee, I too have fabricated PURGE TANKS w/ dedicated/sealed torch set ups. Purge Tanks are the ONLY option by my standards to TIG weld Titanium,Inconel,Monel. Keep the atmosphere out of your welds & breathe the <20% O2 around you.

    Soldering a lug.

brickeyee, This will really put you in a tail spin- One can easily "BRAZE" w/ a TIG torch using aluminum or silicon bronze filler wire. NO flux is used/required. Cover gas from the TIG torch keeps the atmosphere at bay. YES,a purge gas on the back side will keep the atmosphere(hydrogen) from...

    Serial number to twist rate?

OEM Win 70 243/6mm bores were 1:10" twist. Attempting to push a 90gr + weight projectile out of a Winny Bbl will produce patterns not groups. The same hold true for the 244 Rem & 7mm Express Bbls -light varmint projectiles only.

    Soldering a lug.

brickeyee, WOW,there are 'smiths & there are 'plumbers- Proceed as you wish to weld a Bbl lug/Foot on any Bbl. I will continue to PURGE the inside along with TIG torch cover gas to keep the atmosphere from raising carbon, not oxidation. (Hydrogen in the atmosphere is NOT your "Allie" during any...

    Soldering a lug.

brickeye, You are purging the interior of the barrel.-YES. It does not matter since you are welding on the exterior of the barrel.- You haven't a CLUE !

    Soldering a lug.

alinwa, Inside of the Bbl is purged aka first pass for certified pipe welding before the stick monkey's have at it. The TIG torch has purge to keep atmosphere out of weld puddle & the tungsten electrode of which is shrouded/directed by a ceramic or alumina or pyrex cup. blades, Purging- argon...

    Soldering a lug.

Brickeyee, Though inert,Nitrogen is not conducive w/ a TIG welding operation as Argon & Helium are among some other gas mixes. It's not my first rodeo,in the field or at the bench.

    Soldering a lug.

OP, I'm not familiar w/ your Baikal single shot rifle. Cut the Bbl & thread the stub & Bbl. Why not manufacture a dovetailed lug & dovetail the lug to the Bbl. Purged-to keep the atmosphere from pulling carbon/temper out of the parent material...aka the barrel. Purge the bore & TIG weld the...

    Soldering a lug.

OP, Are you soft soldering or silver brazing the Bbl lug? Purge it. Fusion or Filler. Takes approximately 2 seconds. Done. No carbon raised,No temper lost,No Bore screwed ups.

can you tell what trigger this is, and how to adjust it....

As Al Nyhus stated w/ an exception- The pictures do not depict an original Rem 2oz 3 lever trigger group, as there is no way to re-install a bolt release on a Rem 2oz 3 lever trigger group. ( the pin hole(safety & bolt release lever) is enlarged to witness sear engagement on an original 2oz Rem...

Just installed both models of Farley triggers

Repeatability should factor into the equation. If they won't repeat, pull weight is a mute point.
