    Advice request - benchrest estate

Another suggestion is a good firearms auction house as close to you as possible. Morphy's or Rock Island Auction. Yes, you pay a commission but they do all the advertising, packing and shipping and FFL paperwork once sold.

If you have questions about the reamer design and if there have been any changes a call to JGS might be quicker.

    220 Beggs questions

True. The reamer print I posted is the design by Gene that I bought for a 6Beggs I had made. Gene or JGS can tell you if there have been any changes.

Reamer print, here you go... Hornady used to make a FL sizing busing die for this print. LE Wilson makes chamber type bullet seating dies.

what to do when your scope has no really zero stop

IMO, just count clicks between 600 and 1000 and write that down in your notebook. Same as in the short range game (100-300) only more clicks.

    30br powders

It is a bit faster than N130 and LT30, but it may or may not be as accurate as the other two. You just need to try them at the range.

CZ 457 benchrest scope setup question

If you are shooting primarily at 50 yards, or even 100 yds, you don't need a rail where the rear is higher than the front.

    Powder burn in rifle barrel

If you or a buddy sees a big yellow ball flash outside the barrel after the shot, you are prolly using too slow a powder.

    30br powders

IMO, the two best subs for H4198 are N130 and LT30. Given the money you save buying an 8lb of N130 vs same amount of LT30, N130 is a no brainer. I have tried both and see no difference in my rifle barrel. My guess is that if H4198 ever becomes available again, they will want $400 or more for...

    Jewell Triggers

Some may have stockpiles but they aren't going to cannabalize a good trigger for a disfunctional one. Its advertised with a Jewell because that's prolly the way it was built. I have Jewells that have never give a problem, then I have some that went back for repair. No more repairs so if those...

Information on Trophy brand rifle action

Wayne, thanks for the info. FYI its in a dark blue stock with what looks like an air brushed eagles head on the right side of the butt stock. I hope this shooters purchase isn't one of the ones you mentioned! --Greg

Information on Trophy brand rifle action

A fellow shooter just acquired a nice 6PPC rifle with a "Trophy" branded action. It looks like a HALL M clone or darn close to it. Any information on the company that made it would be appreciated. Thanks --Greg

Where to get Hodgdon H4198 powder for 30BR Benchrest ammo

Yes any website that wants you to pay with zelle or bitcoins, etc. or will not accept a credit card is to be avoided like the PLAGUE! Most of these sites will also let you buy 50 or 100,000$ worth of hard to get products, another give away.

Ricky Read has left the range (article by Gary Slawik)

Gary My condolence to you and his family. I know you two were friends beyond description and I'm sorry for your loss. Ricky was a great fellow and a consumate benchrest shooter. I always marveled at his accomplishments with that Hart 1A action and a Weaver T36. I shot near or next to him at...

This may not matter a whole lot to most folks

Pete, can't do that anymore. We have to hurry up so we can get home! In the end, its my opinion that the 6X scope is the one aspect of a hunter or VH rifle that limits its popularity. You should open a discussion with the current board regarding the caliber thing. It may help the class, but with...
