    We Haven't Had A Good Car Thread In A While...........My '67 Chevelle

Life seemed a lot simpler back then. When it comes to the 540 in my Malibu. I can quote the cam duration at .050, the lobe enters, the lift, how many CC’s the combustion chambers have, the piston dome volume, the deck height, the quench area, the intake and exhaust port volumes, and so on and...

    Tomball Gun Club Revamping Range.

It’s not grass as of yet. It’s that green stuff impregnated with seed that they spray on to facilitate rapid growth. We are in the target frame planning stage now. The fact that we don’t want anything metallic on the frames presents a little bit of a challenge.

    We Haven't Had A Good Car Thread In A While...........My '67 Chevelle

I recognize that intake. My older brother built a (what we called a 301) bored out 283 back in the ‘60’s and had one of those side by side intakes with 2 AFB’s sitting on top. 30/30 cam, and a set of double hump heads, Jahns pistons. This was real vintage hot rod stuff.

A Beautiful Sight In The Midst Of Refineries, Chemical Plants and a Shipyard.

I am in Corpus Christi align boring the Struts and Stern tubes in a new 120’ 3600 HP push boat. I got to the shipyard early this morning, and got to see the Sun come up on a cloudless horizon. I climbed to the top of the boat and took this. I can name it “Industrial Pastoral”...

    Bullet die questions

I believe most dies will accommodate either .925 or 1 inch jackets, maybe even a tad longer. I’m not real sure how heavy you can go with a .925 jacket.

We were out today figuring out the layout for the 100 and 200 yard frame. We got it all figured out. Here is a picture of the range. They will be placing the large post for the frames next. http://benchrest.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24324&stc=1&d=1611525115...

    Firing pin protrusion

BJ, in my experience, .065 is the limit, .055 about perfect. I think a lot depends on the amount of actual spring pressure as well. Logic would dictate a weaker spring would not tend to drive the pin all the way trough. A smaller pin has less area of contact to buffer the hit. I think the best...

They will be spaying the burns with that green concoction that is seeded with grass. Supposedly that will help it sod in quickly to avoid excessive erosion.

    Tomball Gun Club Revamping Range.

Of course I will post some. The actual dirt work is about 90 percent done now. The Board of Directors are meeting this week end to see what kind of 100 and 200 yard frames we want. One thing we are looking into is totally non metallic frames to avoid any chance of ricochettes.

    Tomball Gun Club Revamping Range.

Our membership voted last year to greatly improve the Tomball Gun Club to include leveling the range, improving the drainage, and raising the Burm to 25 feet, extending the 50 yard pistol Burm, and building side Burns on the right hand side. It’s going to be much nicer when finished...

    45ACP Pistol Project

Back in the 1970’s when I built quite a few PPC pistols in 38 Special, ( I used model 10 frames), I did not use a front rod support. It seemed to preform no real purpose. I decided to include on on this project for no other reason than to avoid questions as to why I didn’t include one:p...

I got all of the mechanical work done, the pistol will shoot now. I still have some cosmetic work to do, some contouring. But I think I will shoot it first. Everything is machined from Stainless Steel. That ejector rod support/lock took a little thinking, but it came out great. Here are some...
