My newest 10.5 gun is a 40X set up exactly as you describe. The barrel is a straight .800 Broughton with a factory recoil lug, in a Tony Larson stock. It weighs 9 pounds 1ounce, with a Weaver T36 scope and it is a great shooter. I see no down side to this set-up so far.

Dean is also in 1st place on the IR50/50 scoreline in both 10.5 and 13.5. Having to shoot against him week in and week out has been really tough this year.

I was lucky to get some Team last year and it shoots really well in my sporter. Got a few more bricks this year but haven't been able to test it yet. It costs a lot more this year, but if it shoots as good as the stuff I've been shooting I don't care.

Have you slugged the barrel? That's the only way to see if you have tight or loose spots in the wrong places.

Whenever Wilbur feels like it. I really enjoy shooting IR 50/50 but this year 2 of the 4 clubs I shoot at dropped it because they just got tired of not being able to get targets, not being able to get pins, not getting results posted, and just plain BAD cutomer service. It's a shame.

Does anyone know what the deal is with Eley Team ammo. I managed to get 3 bricks of it at the beginning of last season and it shot great. I haven't seen any since. Maybe Bob Collins or Dan Killough can shed some light on the situation.

Yes, the shape of the bullet is different. I tried Eley Pistol Standard a few years back and it actually shot pretty well. Never shot it in competition though. With the constantly rising cost of ammo it might be worth another try.
