    Barrel length vs velocity

The quote is to prevent change of the original post. He'll figure it out. By the way, hello Bill. See if you can find something dirty and underhanded going on there. Do you carry a star?

    Barrel length vs velocity

I think you need to run down to the Penn State school of engineering and go to the library. You're wrong:eek:

    Rifle comparison

Okay, I said I wouldn't post, if this is me, but I'm gonna set at least a few things straight. 1. If anybody including super moderators think that I didn't know my IP was logged everytime my computer was used, they're a fool. Wilbur put IP's beside each post back around 1997, why would I...

    40X action type

So, what's the real difference there Martin, the safety? Everything else sounds consistent with any of them.

    Here's My New Rimfire Rig

I seem to remember this has something to do with a fly named Agamenon. Sounds like Martin is creating a train wreck. James, when Martin puts you out of business I'm sure there's a soup kitchen in Texas. Maybe it's a chili kitchen.

    directions

Go to the ARA website or Dan Killough's website and look at the maps. They're all listed and you can enlarge the map to get a better idea. You can simply type in directions from your home and it will tell you how to get there and how far away.

Question from a Newbie, Can anyone help?

I guess it would be Precision Shooting. But they're mostly centerfire, and sometimes they tend to gravitate away from benchrest. But their motto or mission is the pursuit of ulitimate accuracy or something like that so I guess they can gravitate away as long as they are pursuing accuracy.

    Chamber Cleaning Rod?

Tell you what, you bend it in kind of a circular shap, if it snaps back to original shape, I'll give you double what you paid.

    Chamber Cleaning Rod?

Yeah, it's sophisticated. It goes all the way through. Duh!!

    Chamber Cleaning Rod?

I don't think it's new. Personally, I would never use a brush before I started that method, but let me tell you why I do it. When I spent two days with Bill Calfee as he built my Turbo, I asked him his opinion of the best cleaning method. I got a surprise by his answer, but after him...

    TV at the barn

We don't mind you wearing the loserville shirt but we have some extra duties for you. And we'll have you wear the safety vest. We don't have a real vest but maybe could throw something together out of a couple of ARA targets.

Now Greg, you know I just want to see those Tar Heels in what they refer to as blue. Just love those Tar Heels.

    TV at the barn

So, is there a TV at the barn? North Carolina plays basketball at 12:30 on Sat and I just love those Tar Heels. Can you get reception there or is gonna be radio only?

can someone with some patience help a newbie to RFBR shooting?

Claiming rules, at least in my experience, don't work. All the shooter has to do is say he won't sell and he forfeits the match. Usually, there's nothing at stake except bragging rights and he still really won even if officially he forfeited.

can someone with some patience help a newbie to RFBR shooting?

I doubt it was set up like that. But stock matches, with the only rule that the rifle be stock, inherently lacks parity. For instance a guy could have a really hot shooting (in his opinion) 10/22 ( and yes I know we use the 10/22 as an example too often) and he sees a flyer for a stock match...

    Chamber Cleaning Rod?

Why would anyone use a brush, using little short strokes at the leade of the chamber, then push all that crud completely through the bore? I know if I cared anything about my rifle's bore I most certainly would never do that. Of course, that's just me. I would never push a brush through the...

can someone with some patience help a newbie to RFBR shooting?

Stock rifle matches have major drawbacks. I would use an Anschutz 1913 probably or maybe an older 40X. Still stock.

    The Calfee Effect

I assume you're asking has anybody actually compared a Calfee rifle with another gunsmiths rifle under the same conditions. Yeah, I've done that, but there's still an issue. Ammo. Now if you eliminate that variable, you can get some good info as far as what you're looking for, but it's hard...

can someone with some patience help a newbie to RFBR shooting?

King, You didn't say this was a stock rifle shoot, or if you did I missed it. Your only problems were probably rest, ammo, and scope. Other than that you should be competitive. I know that sounds a little sarcastic, but it's not. That's just how close you probably are.
