Potential New World Record Shot by Gary Ocock - ** NEW** Sta-Moly Precision Jackets

Chevrolet was the name of the man that started the Chevrolet Auto Company, Gaston Chevrolet, along with his brother Louis. It later was sold to and became a line in the General Motors stable.

Barrel Nut versus Shouldered Switch Barrel

One plus with the shouldered barrel minus the nut is that you can switch barrels without taking the action out of the stock. With a proper gunsmith taking the measurements for the first fit up, you needn't have it fitted again. He, or she, can send you a new barrel based on the measurements with...

    Simple cleaning rod question.

I'm sorry for your loss but, do you think things would have been better with a carbon fiber rod dipped in solvents?

    Simple cleaning rod question.

Well now, that's a bit of a stretch. Don't tell OSHA or we'll be cleaning in the dark. Two hundred forty volts-how close was his digital powder scale? But, was the bore clean and undamaged? That's what's important.

    Trim length

Length depends on how well you monitor your cases. I watch mine all the time and trim to .010 under max. when they are within .004 or .005 under max.

    Redding Bump Die?

Bingo, Dusty. For we runners, we have to, absolutely gotta have free feeding and easy extraction. And I didn't even mention undisturbed bags.

    Redding Bump Die?

You and I do it differently. I'll just leave it at that. My method and my dies allow me to shoot hot and have cases that are in service long after others are in the trash can.

    Redding Bump Die?

This may come as a surprise but, I disagree with Allen. We use shoulder bump dies periodically in order to get a better chamber fit. It comes with the territory of winning at BR and not throwing out brass prematurely. And that is with the use of an FL die the rest of the time.

Pete, What do you think of his brushing the inside after the neck has been sized? I brush first.

Rules aside, what front bag fill gives the best results?

I don't see where circumventing the bag fill rule helps at all, or at least in my case. There are those who think a hard bag is a good bag. To them I say, just try it with a 2x4 and let me know what you find.

carbon build up in 30 BR barrel

I don't believe in beating up a barrel by cleaning it. Instead, I stay on top of the copper and carbon instead of waiting until it can be a problem,,,oops,,, what is the problem with a little copper or carbon in a barrel. I did say "a little". I'm with Frank Green on the intensity of the...

Loading At The Range -- Question

Ed Hall did everything wrong. He preloaded in Dublin, Georgia on Robertson Drive, where he lived, after practicing and sighting in at Twin Oaks. He and Rusty Carr arrived at Kelbly Range, toured the facility, talked to people, and DID NOT sight in or practice. Oh horror of horrors, his preloads...

IBS rule on 10.5 lb weight

So Stool Tell us at which match you competed where a scale that went beyond 0.x was used to weigh rifles. I believe that rarified, adulterated air in Colorado has you messed up. Go knit pick among your own kind. You and your talent(s?) aren't appreciated here.

    TOP actions of the SS

Here's a little, true story. Don Mulder bought a rifle from Alex Dutko some years back (all my stories are old stories) and Don was killing us at the local matches. At a match at Harrison, small and unregistered match, he asked me if I thought he should save that barrel for the big shoots. It...

IBS rule on 10.5 lb weight

Butch Mike in CO forgot to allow for the weight differential caused by the rarified air in Colorado. All his weight computations are flawed. Stool remains the same regardless of atmospheric pressure.
