    sure enough, shoulder moves forward.....

It's common, and predictable. I could demonstrate the opposite with a well designed case, tight clearances, & rational loads. This, using Wilson NS & Redding body die. If the purpose of this is to highlight a FL sizing struggle to partial neck sizing, then I can follow that. FL dies are not a...

    sure enough, shoulder moves forward.....

W/resp to the understanding of die makers(especially custom), or to factory gun designers, or to reloaders who seperate their sizing actions, there is in no way a 'discovery' here.. FL sizing is not for improving accuracy. It's not even a shortcut. It's merely an inevitable requirement...

Trying to find the best seating depth.

Seems that what you really WANTED, was a jam... Hope you captured the jammed velocity. But maybe you could give jumping a better effort next time. ya never know

barrel length for maximum velosity in 6.5x47L

It's always a balance.. The potential of shooting systems(w/resp to barrel length) is predictable. If you take (10) 28cal blanks to their highest LR potential in 7WSM, you might end up with 3 or 4 that will consistently shoot 1/4moa at 100yds. Take (10) 24cal blanks to their PB potential in...

barrel length for maximum velosity in 6.5x47L

You are wrong. Barrel friction and air drag on a fully engraved bullet is nothing compared to the pressure behind that contained bullet, even in extremely long barrels. Yes, velocity gains drop off after the powder is burned up. But they are still gains, until pressure drops below needed to...

barrel length for maximum velosity in 6.5x47L

No, I said up close. To me that's <300yds where a 6PPC shines. Then you went and changed apples to oranges with this example of somebody experimenting 'for long range'. Now, is somebody winning in point blank BR with a 26-28" 6PPC? For that matter, is anybody winning in LR BR with a 26-28" 6PPC...

barrel length for maximum velosity in 6.5x47L

The flag was rightfully thrown when someone claimed that velocity slows with barrel length. That's just what has to happen, before anyone takes bad information into basis, as the thread discussion progresses further. You don't see 30" PPC because 30" barrels are not as accurate as ~21" barrels...

barrel length for maximum velosity in 6.5x47L

Just for fun I ran numbers in QL, changing only barrel length, for a 6.5x284 using H4350. 26" = 2940fps 36" = 3147 56" = 3390 106" = 3680 107" = 3684 At 270" you just break 4000fps That barrels DROP in velocity beyond normal lengths, is WRONG. That different barrels compared, 'seem' to counter...

Bullet tipping. Is there another way???

It's one thing to be an ignorant 'hunter'.. And completely different to be a lazy and cheap 'benchrest shooter'.. So yeah, laugh it up!

turn neck vs no turn neck

Canuk, you might already have heard what you wanted, but how thick is your neck brass after sizing down?

    Barrel Vibration testing

Viewing(like with an oscope) should be easy, but recording is tougher. I just revisited my DAS and see that it's not as high in recording speed as I had thought. It samples at 14Kb/sec, which only provides 1.1K samples(defined) per second and a USB throughput into my spreadsheet table at only...

    Barrel Vibration testing

I tried to passively capture muzzle movement on a 16.5lb br gun off a rest(1st attempt -FAIL). This was using a laser mic, modified Oehler optical sensor, DAS, software/Laptop, precision mounting, etc(several $thou, nicely built FAILURE). Some things learned so far: 1. Recoil invalidates...

    6mm Dasher CI 450 Vs. Fed 205M

Your profile implies that you've been shooting BR for 8yrs, and you've managed to form dasher brass. So you already know the answer.. What do you REALLY want?

Adjustable cutting depth carbide primer pocket tool

Of Sinclair I have these, the handle setscrew is only to hold the one-piece cutters. I prefer K&M for pockets, flash holes, and mouth chamfering. Sinclair for expansion, turning and measurement tools.

Adjustable cutting depth carbide primer pocket tool

Sinclair's are not presently adjustable. But K&M's are: http://www.precisionreloading.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PRE&Product_Code=KMCL131&Category_Code=PRIME_POCK_CORR_KM I don't know of any 'uniformers' that chamfer without a cutter in the flash hole.

    recoil suppressor legality?

Joe, I can't find a rule there that would inhibit use of weighting, mercury or otherwise, provided the gun makes weight limit. It's not an issue with HG of coarse, and LG doesn't seem to mention. I see muzzle breaks are allowed to reduce recoil, so there seems no 'intent' to discourage recoil...

    recoil suppressor legality?

What clarification? Can Mercury be used or not? Where did the 'no movement' basis come from? Is this stated in any rules? Is this ever checked? What would the test be?

What wind influences bullet drift most?

Wind drift is directly tied to LAG TIME It is crosswind speed times lag time Wd = Ws * Tlag Lag time is Time of flight(which encompasses many factors) minus time of flight in a vacuum Tlag = TOF - TOFvac This can be applied AT a target of distance, and/or any increment of travel beforehand...
