Don't ask me why one guy needs three lathes but here's the latest and last addition. No more room. Waiting on tech guy to prime the injectors and fire her up.

Now to start making all the various spiders and other amenities. Should be up and running by the end of the week.

Man that thing is sweet Dave! Is it new or used? If its used it looks like its in great shape. By the way, only 1 pix? Quit teasing us. Congrats. R.K.

Reading the spec sheet on the HAAS site, that looks like a very useful and flexible piece of equipment. Manual operation combined with programmability for making multiple runs.

I hope you have better luck with Haas than anyone else I know that has owned one.:confused:
 
new HAAS lathe

We have Been using a HAAS CNC lathe and 4 axis machining center at the NAVY Fleet Readiness Center at Cherry Point for the past several years and we like them a lot. I envy you.

HAAS does not make their equipment perfect.

They make their software see their equipment as being perfect by correcting any flaws in the background. Very smart way to make working machines at a price some of us can afford. Dave I am very happy for you and wish you many years of productive service from your new lathe. I really enjoyed the HAAS we had in school. After you get past the learning curve you will wonder how you lived without one.

Now come off some of that rusty money and buy yourself GIBBS CAM. It will allow you to draw in CAD, work in solid works, tool out and test your code.

HAAS VMCs,

Friends are running three VMCs at this time and they are all making $$ with them. A machine tool techie that I know says that you get a lot for your money with HAAS machines.
I think that your dealer's support is important in any machine too purchase.

This is bad. I woke up designing the flush coolant system in my head.
Wish that guy would get here and turn this thing on.

I am glad to see you got your TL-1. As soon as my building is done my HAAS will be on its way. Looking forward to see how you setup the lathe...

No doubt I'm going to bother you on setup when mine arrives...

I have three Haas machines here, a Hardinge with Centroid control and a Harrison with Fanuc control. Had a Romi and SW Industries and they are long gone. If anything does go wrong--HAAS is the one to have.

Great addition to your shop. I am running a 1992 haas VF-0 that earns money every day. They are a machine and can have problems but most have been the ones that i caused or they just wore out. I just replaced the X axis motor and cable. the motor was the original one installed in 1992.
