I am with Jerry. A Texan just knows these things. You are on your third tank of gas on I-10 just south of New Mexico but still in Texas. There is too much traffic for a sane man to average that speed going north or east from Houston. Your cruse control has been set on about 80 for much of the trip for you to average 73. After you passed through San Antonio it is a beautiful drive if you like wide open spaces and few trees. It is a long way between towns and people out there.
