All 50 cal and smaller surplus brass must be destroyed,

Jay

The anti-gunners can't take the guns away because it will cause them too much political damage. The next best thing is to make it impossible to get ammunition. Whether by scarcity or elevating prices of ammo the end result is the same, no guns which is exactly what the SP's want. Once they take away our ability to defend ourselves they can do what ever they want to us, with us or with what we own.
If you don't believe it just reflect back on what the POTUS said vs. what he's doing.

I saw a post by Amer-I-Can Enterprises a Class 06 FFL Ammunition Manufacturer that said all brass must be mutilated.
There was also another post by Summit Ammunition wanting to buy large quantities of brass from anyone.
It looks like the cheap military brass will dry up and without the competition prices will naturaly go up.

Could the FoI act be used to track down the individuals in the train and publish names, dates, etc.? We are all sure of the the provenance, but it would be pretty damning to publish the contents of each missive involved and the name of the author.

Jay ...

All once fired brass sold by the DoD must now be "smashed or shredded". Follow this link for details:
http://www.jpfo.org/alerts03/alert20090313.htm
That means no more cheap once-fired 50, 223 or 9mm brass.

Please provide the DOD Regulation (by number) that applies/mandates this action. If it's a true, bonafide requirement, a Regulation will have been written and approved by an authorizing official and will also specify the agency directed to carry out this destruction. If a regulation can't be found then the information from this source or others is nothing more than rumor or conjecture at best. Thanks for your assistance. :)

It came in a letter from Govliquidation to all scrap purchasers and all they did was changed its classification.Once the classification was changed it must now meet all the current rules and regulations applied to scrap purchases.
No agency has been appointed to mutilate the brass. If you want to buy the brass you must mutilate it or provide proof of its mutilation. They essentially made it a term or condition of its sale.
You can contact Jerry Hazzlett at Amer-I-Can Enterprises and get a copy of the letter.

Believe me, they have the means and the power to effect these subtle "changes".
You won't hear about this in the media.
Making ammo scarce and expensive, and mandating exorbitant liability insurance on firearm owners and ranges will be their priority.
It never has been the issue of "black guns" vs. hunting guns.....they want them all.
How's that "change" working for you?
BTW how's the primer production problems goin? What's the latest fairytale their telling now?

Tom Gresham (Guntalk) talked about this on his podcast on 3-15. On his page listen to the Part B and Part C section of the 3-15 show. This move by the DOD is real and we need to deal with this now. He said that everyone needs to contact their Rep's and just overload them with mail, calls and personal visits.

This comes down to lost American jobs, lost income by the Govt. and just a plain waste of our tax dollars. He doesn't get worked up about much gun legislation, but this has him fired up.

This will impact everyone because the price of ammo will skyrocket even more for all ammo not just .223. Hit IT!!

Remember you are contacting your Federal Reps. Listen to Tom's podcast for good talking points to include in your letter and end it with letting them know that they will become unemployed if this is not dealt with.

agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this hit the internet thursday, and i ask any and all to obtain a confrimation.
today i have confirmed that the dod/surplus sales auctions have stopped the sale of small arms brass for resale, it must be destroyed.

today i talked to Kay scharch of scharch mfg/top brass and she confrimed they are no longer allowed to purchase brass for resale.

forget the anti-gun version of this, consider just the dollars lost by this decision. brass for scrap will not generate the funds brass for resale will. this is an economic hardship on all taxpayers and a stupid move during an economic down turn.

contact your politicians.....my opinon is to not make it a progun/antigun issue , but a money issue.

a simple phone call from the white house could cause the dod auction management to make a change, or a signature or ? it takes no vote, no outside input.

It's a damn shame if it is as it sounds in that article. I agree, reading the text sounds as if ALL is being considered at SV.

The way it was described to me was any mill brass from use within the continential US would NOT be considered SV. Any mil brass used outside the continental would 100% for sure be considered SV and destroyed accordingly.

Destroyed Brass

I got a little ticked off after reading the above posts. I guess this is just a backdoor effort to make it tougher on the shooting public. I had to go to the post office a little while ago to pick up a package and had the radio on where I heard the "Lou Dobbs Show". I just caught the tail end of a conversation where I thought I heard him say he was pro second ammendment. I thought of calling the show and seeing if he would be interested in looking into this. If there is some interest he might be able to get the word out on his program. I didn't know that he had a radio program. I just know of him from when he was on CNN. His website says he is an independent. Anybody know much about him?

Thanks,

Dan Batko

"Where are we going and why am I in this basket?"

Independent?

Dan, I heard him a few weeks ago on IMUS in the Morning where he and Imus were speaking about firearm ownership. Since he knows Imus's pro firearms position I was surprised that he stated he was a firearms owner and was very very upset with the gun control schems.
His statements were pro gun for that 2.5 minutes I heard.

i have talked to both the owner and his wife ( SCHARCH MFG)today.
IT IS TRUE, ALL 50 AND BELOW IS SCRAP, NOT FOR RESALE, MUST BE DESTROYED.
