Ok, so you finally hit something..
GREAT JOB

Did you think we would be surprised that something could be hit at 1200yds -with any gun?
Or, are you just announcing that waterbottle season has finally opened?
Woo Hoo

i think the gun's much prettier than the table! don't let em get to you, most people never even dream of shooting that far and are impressed

Good shot. I've done 1000 a few times but not 1200. I've got 20 MAO tapered bases for my Nightforce on my 6 BR and it takes every bit of the elevation to hit at 1000. Not sure what I would have to do to get elevation for thenext 200 yards.

Again, good shot.

It's no big deal, but I couldn't resist.
Very, very rarely does anyone here brag about how far they are shooting. It just doesn't matter.

Nice shot nice video! Did you get it first shot? Was that cold bore?

Last December I punched paper at 1780 yards. First two shots were 12" apart and it was gusting between 11 and 17 mph from my 7 with a storm moving in and losing light fast. It was about as happy as I can get!:D But, then I dialed in my last two MOA (first two were 36 inches low on the target which was a 4x8 sheet on end with a 1000 yard benchrest target at the very top) thinking "man, watch this group I am about to shoot". I fired 5 shots quickly, called my spotter and to this day we have no idea where they went! LOL

I liked it so much I came home and talked Curtis Briggs from Briggs Custom Gun into building me a 50 moa base that attached to the top of my 25 moa base. That way I don't have to take my first base off. I know that is not proper but if I only do it every once in a while then two bases doesn't matter. Next time I hope to get past 2000 and see if I can work my way to 2500.

Yes, probably some guys on here that do that in their sleep but I have to agree with you that it is a proud moment and lots of fun! Good job!

Tony

oh yeah, I forgot to mention I shot from prone with a bipod in the mud. Had to keep rocking my rifle over onto one leg so I could stuff dead grass in the holes under the legs! LOL

Michelle Gallagher would hit that with open sights.....

Standing on her hind feet.

(((I shoulda' wrote this over on youtube :D along with "second!" and a string of expletives..... But Michelle DOES so I can't do the whole youtube "comments" thing :) )))

LOL

Soooo, Three Hunnerd...... brang thet thang out to a match...... see how she DO hey! Should make a decent F-Class rig provided your retinas are firmly attached.

Awesome shot !!! OMG! 1200 yards is something else! The energy to make the bottle jump like that is... overwhelming! I'm sure a lot of shooters would claim have done it, or easy to do it, maybe like myself, but once you look thru and focus your $2-$3000 scope on the target, reality will hit you. A spotter with a super spotting scope is an asset like no other, + good luck seeing the impact of the bullets in the high grass. Anyways GREAT SHOOTING! Nothing compares to the feeling of hitting the target at 1000+yards! It's easy, I do it every saturday and twice on sunday:)

My bad, i thought it was fun anyway, next time i'm going for a water bottle 12 oz, or is that to big? maybe one of my kids BUG JUICE bottles, no but really next time we're going for 1 mile, i hope mikecr doesnt mind if i post it..

I once shot a Prestone anti freeze bottle at about 100 yds with a Ruger Super Blackhawk. One shot, and occasioned by a small bet. Drilled it neat.

That was -- is -- about my sole accomplishment . . . . but the guy who was with me that day reminds me of that shot about once a year.

You have a right to be very proud of that shot, and I'm glad you captured it on video.

Well......I dont think there was any braggin at all! I would be proud of my new rifle and a shot like that......and MRmcr.......whats the diff in posting a shot like that and posting results from a match? If I do good while shooting I FEEL GOOD! I if I do poorly I feel Humbled..........Duhh, Anyway nice rifle & nice shot..Ernie

Ernie, if you're talkin to me; The difference in that context is competition.
Now, if there was benchrest competition that come down to homever could walk shots into abstract objects the furthest distance.. Well I guess it would be all that.

Maybe I'm just a hard sale. But I'd be more impressed if he can carry his shooting system a couple miles from the truck, and setup & shoot 1moa to half that distance-without a bunch of sighters and preconditioning.
You know, people do this. It's called hunting.

And if he can do that, any distance all the way out to 1200yds, then I'm almost as impressed as you.
That is, if I was actually convinced of it..
