Thank you David! My Hall is S/N 92, I'd read somewhere about double set screws in the cocking piece, but under magnification, it sure looks like a roll pin. I might be able to diss assemble it now.

Try using it with a sharp scraper blade.

Thanks Mike! The locking screw was easy to remove. There is 'something' underneath it, but I cant seem to find a recess, or slot to remove it. Tried using a magnifier to work it out, but couldn't focus on the fastener. I'll try again using the Hawkeye.

Way too much paperwork involved sending a rifle bolt from Australia to the US and back again...

Mike, would this also apply to a Hall Standard action? I have an early one, S/N 92, and would love to replace the spring.

If the scope is still serviceable, I'd just find a slip on cap, or cover, and be done with it..............

When you wonder about the process of pushing that poor little gun drill through a barrel blank, especially with 'sub' calibres, that they are as straight as they are! I wonder what the barrel makers reject rate is like, just for the gun drilling process?????

Paul, the work looks great, and obviously shoots very well. This is the first MPR I've seen with a stainless barrel.......... My shooting mate and myself both have MPR's but with blued barrels. How concentric was the OD of the barrel compared to the bore? After seeing picture of the Beggs...

You're right Ian. Its just that most importers and distibutors want the cheapest possible price, to maximise their profit. The Chinese can make any quality level you want, but the higher you go, the more you 'pay'! Thats a nasty word to most importers...............
