Tried a search sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. Looks like the 6.5x47 is doing much better in 600 yard shooting that the Creedmoor, while the Creedmoor rules the roost in PRS. Thoughts on why this is the case? Pros/cons to either round? Thanks, Matt.

Thanks for the replies. I'm obviously not putting every conflicting point I listed out there as my position, just listing the various argument I've heard. Whether it is due to shoulder angle, neck length or other cause(s) it would seem that the 6mm Rem doesnt usually have less barrel life...

Which of these rounds is going to give the longest barrel life in general? Obviously a lot of things will determine throat erosion/barrel life. Assuming shooting at a reasonable rate with simmilar loads which round will be the easiest on barrels?

FWIW I have had 2 different triggers from Sharp Shooter Supply. Both have been excellent, very crisp and clean, easy adjustments.

Thanks for the great replies. I don't doubt for a second that the .30-06 is more than capable of taking elk out to 300. I have a .270 that will shoot 1.5 @ 300 all day long. For walking around, timber and med range shots I'll be using the .270. When I say med-large game at extended ranges...
