New grizzly "south bend heavy ten"

skeetlee I know what you mean. I have a Colchester 15 x 60" but it is to big to do barrel work like I want to do it. I wouldn't worry about a gear driven lathe, the gears don't appear to cause roughness. The main thing is the spindle bearings. I had a 20 X 80 Chinese lathe that would cut good...

How does Grizzly's G4003 lathe compare to the heavy 10? The heavy 10 is a very good looking lathe but I can not spend that much money for a lathe. Thanks Glenn

    Pre bore problem

fourspear It sounds like your bored hole is not true with the hole in your practice material. I wanted to see how far I could chuck on the taper of a barrel the other day and it slipped. It did the same as yours. Glenn

Cataracts - how did you manage them?

Be aware - they don't always come out what you want. My first eye I can see long distance great, which was what I wanted. The second eye doesn't focus at either end. Just the luck of the draw I guess. Glenn

    Strange modification on 03 springfield

I have a 14 Enfield that has the barrel crossed drilled and a 1/4" peened shaft in it. I was told it was a drill rifle. Nothing on the receiver was changed. The hole is in the center of the barrel, in the chamber. 303 Brit. Glenn

    6PPC and 30BR using the same receiver/bolt

tatco Read Jim Borden's reply again. His Rimrock BR actions (bolts) are built to handle both a BR case and a PPC case as manufactured, not they may work. If a bolt is made for a PPC only, it will not work with a BR case without the rim being trimed. You have to know how the bolt is designed...
