    30BR out to 500yds ?

You would be much better off using a 6br or 6bra for regular 500 yard matches.

    30BR out to 500yds ?

On an overcast day with virtually no wind you may be able to get a 1/2 MOA or smaller group. Depends on your definition of "Accuracy".

    Ruger No. 1 extraction

Take the forend off and there will be a spring loaded extractor strut on the left side. Put a clockwise turn or two with a hex wrench to increase the extractor pressure.

Need Shilen DGS Action barrel tenon specs

This answer was given a while back to the same question. "DGA with a flat bolt nose. Receiver face to front of bolt = 0.750 inches so the tenon length should be 0.742 - 0.745 inches if you wanted a snug clearance or 0.740 inches if you wanted a bit more, that is without a recoil lug. The...

Yesterdays experience dialing in a barrel

Okay, I'm by no means passing judgement, but I'm having a little trouble visualizing your setup. I was under the impression that those little lathes had a .750 spindle bore, at the most. So chambering through the headstock is impossible. Another option would be to chuck up the muzzle end and use...

    gordy chambering setup

I have yet to chamber a barrel where there was absolutely no O.D. run-out on the muzzle end once the breech end of the bore was dialed in true.

Question about bedding with Devcon 10110

    fireforming necks

Why not just run the case up on a 7mm mandrel? Then use 7mm bullets to fire-form to your chamber.

New tooling for lathe, totally overwhelmed.

You don't really need indexable tooling at all. You mentioned that you have HHS bits so just use those. You can grind them yourself for any procedure you do when chambering a barrel. Leaves a real nice finish on SS, too.

    Los Angeles area benchrest?

I have a friend whose son is getting started in rifle shooting. He lives in the L.A. area so I suggested he join a range where they shoot some BR, whether it be centerfire or rimfire. Hopefully there he can get some insight on what the sport is all about. So my question is, are there any ranges...
