    Curious

Passed a California licensed motorhome with a vehicle in tow near Amarillo, TX recently as we were on the way to northern NM to shoot PD's. I'm guessing it was a shooter returning home from the SuperShoot. The vehicle in tow had a license number "6PPC"; anyone know who this is? Thanks for any...

+1 on the rod guides. I have Mike Lucas make mine for the Ivy rod specific size.

    bore scope ???

Hey Mike, try the Bore Tech C4 & let me know what you think, anybody else, too. One other item that is important to cleaning a barrel is your rods. I started using Ivy one-piece SS rods several years ago and really love them. Not only are they great cleaning rods made to your custom specs, but...

    bore scope ???

Would agree that the Wipe Out products are good, too, used them for the past 3 years or so until I tried the Bore Tech C4 which seemed to work a bit quicker with same final results. Cleaning technique is same/similar for both products. Choice of product probably depends on what type cleaning...

    bore scope ???

Cleaning I have been using Bore Tech C4 lately with excellent results; their other product, "Eliminator" is also a good cleaner. The C4 is formulated more for carbon/powder residue. After the liquids, use JB or Iosso as was said, then clean at reasonable intervals & it will be a lot easier. You...

Found a rifle for this project, so thanks for the replies, and it was good to hear from some of my old acquaintances. Later, Joe

    Stainless Steel Barrel imperfection?

I was discussing something like this with Greg Tannel a few years ago, and he said that it was probably sulphur inclusions from the added suphur precipitating out. My bore looked like wormwood here & there. Fortunately, it shoots great for a varmint rifle and fouls very little.

    WTB Varmint Hunter class PPC

Hope it is OK to post this here; if inappropriate I apologize. Looking for a used Varmint Hunter class rifle in PPC as a basis to build a 20PPC varmint rifle, prefer RBRP custom stainless action. PM me if you have anything. Thanks, Joe

    Edwin Hall

I just found out today that Ed had passed away. Have to say that I am very sorry to hear about it. Ed was a friend, and suffice it to say he was a real driving force in the establishment of the current MGGOA and the Shamrock Shoot. Ed had a kooky, and spooky, streak in him, but he was a...

    change scope, change vibrational characteristic?

Don't know about barrel vibrations, but if you change from say a Leupold (LCS) to something like a Nightforce, you have significantly changed the balance of the rifle & the way it rides the bags. And, of course, if the rifle was optimized for weight before, the change to a much heavier scope...

    Hood Quick Cradle

Keep in mind that prices shown are from several years ago when Charlie was making & selling these. I saw them somewhere a couple years ago priced at $200, but not under the Hood brand. I think Scotty is going to try to beat that, but don't know for sure if he can. There is quite a bit of...

    What brand/model of loading press?

Only things I will add: 1) The co-Ax is a really good press, but doesn't lend itself to the use of die shims. In my experience, you need to be able to use shims to precisely bump shoulders. 2) The Sinclair press seems to be a sorta hidden secret. I put it a close second to my RFD. If you are...
