    1899 Savage Bolts

I have heard that the 99 Savage has selective bolts for fitting purposes. You Gentlemen have any information? I was gifted a Takedown 1899 built in 1913 with a bit of headspace. Thanks Clarence.

    Datum Line 22-250

Ok the Tool is finished, measured the fired Lapua cases and the Tikka's chamber is .004 short of the SAAMI min spec. Sure would hate to stretch those Lapua cases more than the .002 that new cases measure. Clarence.

Those Ejector marks on the cases may be the result of some type of lube in the chamber.

    Primer Preload

I shot the (Russian) primers for ten years in the 308 Palma Game, the Russian primers are larger in diameter that US made. The Russian primer must be sensitized after hitting the bottom to instill a bit of crush to the primer or the SD's of the load will suffer. The .002 you mention may be a...

    Which Metal To use.

Ron This cadet is square with the world at the Block and I would not want to lap much as the hardness is not very deep. This cadet is in the hot altered case Bee and is used for Coyote control. The 45gr Sierra .224 @ 3100fps works good.

    Which Metal To use.

Thanks Ron. I also put an attachment bolt through the frame to receiver and thought that the very little clearance between the falling Block and frame would take some load thus the reason for the question. CD

    Which Metal To use.

Gentlemen. I am going to replace the Pins of the Martini Cadet chambered for the Mashburn Bee. I have both W1 and O1 rod I am guessing that the Oil Hardenable rod is stronger. The reason is that some pins are worn and I do have the reamers to correct the fitting.
