Find an old 788 remington in 223, 222, or 6mm rem they shoot great out of box but I would replace trigger. Timney makes a good one. have ll the 788s except 44 mag

I have installed a Vias muzzle brake on 300 WBY mag. The accuracy maybe a little better, probaly because you do not fear the recoil. It will shoot an inch or better at 200 for two rounds the third is usually a little off. The barrel is too hot to touch after two shots. I have a Vias for my 338...

I just installed a Viper 6x24x50 and a muzzle brake on a friends 300 wby mag vanguard. Great scope, you can see 30 cal bullet holes at 200 yards easily on 18 power. Have read the manual once but need to read again to understand the features of this scope. Great glass.

This year's Super Shoot they used a new paper for 100 yards. It seems to have a plastic coating. I was told they have use a different measure because the holes are smaller. May Jim Kelbly could chime in. I think it is what NBRSA will be using but not sure. Bill Greene

I own all the 788's except two. The 22-250 is the most accurate out of the box. Why not re barrel in that chamber.

I have just changed to squeezing the bag. Bought the Sinclair rest that was on sale at Midway. Lots of crazy went a way. I am Super Shoot now. First match since I have changed. Wish me luck I will need it. Thanks Wilbur for the technique. Bill

We had a great day. The wind sucked though. Dry and windy, cooling down now. If you want the best in bench rest, then get on down to ther Super Shoot. You will learn more at one match here than years at your range. Trout

I used an online calculator 4.98mm is .196 inch. But you are shooting 218 yards and we shoot 200. Bill I am sure it looked tiny through the scope! I did not back it up 18 yards to see if it comes out .177 math and moa makes my little brain hurt!
