    Benchrest Rifle Triggers

Bought a couple Shilen's from Northland recently for new PD rifles in process. Anxiously Installed one in a 700 action as soon as it arrived to compare it to a Jewell. I was impressed. 2.6 oz out of the box and into the action with no slam fires and no discernable creep without any...

I put the mixture in a shot glass to the depth of the case case neck.......no need for steel balls. I merely sink the case neck into the mixture give it a twist, and click the case...

    Pillar to action mating surfaces

I run a light cut 32 TPI on the pillars....005-.010 deep. It raises the surface just enough to provide a snug fit and nice cavities for the epoxy. If they are a little tight they will sometimes turn into the stock cutting the threads as they go in. Never had one come loose. I let the pillars...

    Removing reamer burrs

Thanks for the reply Mike. After 31 views and no response I was beginning to think that either: 1. I had just divulged one of the deepest inner most trade secrets 2. No one wants to admit to using such an idiotic move 3. No one's ever heard of or tried it Rick M?

    Removing reamer burrs

@ALINWA "Sometimes when we barrel a rifle we create some tiny smears or burrs where the chambering reamer shears off the lands along the slope of the leade, I have some thoughts about WHY this happens, and how to prevent it, and even how to get rid of it mechanically, but I digress. It DOES...

    up side down threading

"Upside down and backwards" I also thread left to right plunging straight in using the DRO. Learned that from my mentor, a 60year machinist who's still doing it and going strong at 75. He calls it "upside down and backwards". That term may be old school to you guys that are machinists by...

    Bedding procedure ?

best way to shorten action screws?

Sorry meant socket not hex Al: Sorry in my addition above I meant to say I start with a socket flat head cap screw and reduce the head to .375 to fit trigger guards. I've also tried regular socket cap screws and they work as well just cutting the 82 degree taper. However Mutual Screw (yes...
