    Encore/Bellm Tune up kit

I've used the oversize pins and they do help. Apollo, I'm curious about what you said about beating them in. Did you get the oversize reamers to ream the frame and barrel lug?

What would cause the velocity to go up at lower temperatures?

John, I would love a source on that. Down in our area the humidity is very high. On a hot and humid day it takes effort just to breath. We aren't much above sea level. This increased humidity creates a drag on a bullet in flight thus slowing it down. I've noticed it on several occasions on my...

What would cause the velocity to go up at lower temperatures?

Tbkahuna, I live down south also. You know, where the air is almost always "heavy". The cooler weather you and I are experiencing is a lot drier than it normally is. The humidity was probably a lot lower when you fired those rounds than in the past. This would explain why both your reloads and...

    Sweets 7.62

Actually I didn't know that. Course I don't use KG1 or KG12. A salesman at the local gunshop had a bottle of KG12 and was pushing it to be without a doubt the best copper solvent ever made. I told him I doubted it and we put it to the test against sweets, using the penny method. At the time...

    Sweets 7.62

Take a penny and douse it in KG-12 and then take another penny and douse it in Sweets. I've done it and the results were immediate and decisive to me. I still use Sweets.

    Belted vs non-belted cartridges...help !!!

+1 Boyd, you and I are seeing eye to eye on this. This has been my experience reloading for belted magnums. I use the stony point tool you referenced and headspace off of the shoulder rather than the belt. This allows me to get minimal bump(.001) on the shoulder to extend case life.

    Fun with Kimber

Define better luck? Is it shooting to your expectations? Even if it is and you can only get it to do so with a bullet you don't like, then that's a compromise. For the cost of a Kimber there should be no compromise. I could fill your ear full of frustration upon frustration I had...

    HELP new X-Mark Pro trigger

Gotta love your energy al.:D I use one of those little butane "crack" torches to unlock the sear engagement screw. The guts do come out of it just like the old ones. The ones I've done were very well finished and square. Much better than the Ruger triggers you spoke of!! I used o ring picks on...

    HELP new X-Mark Pro trigger

Well, a target trigger they ain't. But I've had good luck as Dennis says bringing them down to the 2.5lb range quite easily. To me the contact surfaces are much better finished on this trigger than the old ones. Some of the old ones I've done were awful to say the least. The ones I've done...

    Real big ups problem !!

Something doesn't add up. Friday I ordered a trigger plate assembly for a Remmy 1100 LT-20 from Remington cause Brownells or Numrich didn't have it. Being sent UPS and the guy on the phone didn't ask for a FFL number. Five minutes ago I ordered an action bar and feed latch for a 11-87 from...

    Ruger 77 quick tips

Bed it... I've got two varmint models, one old 77 with tang safety and the other the Mk II. Both were sub moa shooters out of the box but they absolutely woke up when I full length bedded the action. I usually don't use the action screws when bedding but since the Rugers have that angled...

    Sound Off on GUSTAV:

Gustav has a long reach. Woke this morning to see outer clouds coming out of the east at a high rate of speed and we've got sustained winds at 10mph with gusts a little higher. Sky is a deep blue to the south and we're over 400 miles away. This should be as much as we feel unless something...

Just heard on the weather channel that it's already taken 80 lives. Better pay attention to this one and take heed to the warnings. TWC says all inbound lanes to NO will become outbound lanes at 4am Sunday morning. Reported 2 million people below I-10 will be evacuating.

    Remington triggers

Wolff makes a reduce let off spring for 700 triggers that I use, same OD and coil spacing but a softer spring. Come in 3 or 10 packs. Use the factory spring as a helper spring under your truck!

Paul, I don't care where he goes as long as it stays away from deep south Georgia. There is no way we could handle another storm this soon. The ground is saturated now and the rivers just crested well above flood stage on Tuesday. Rhaney, sounds like Fay had a long reach. She came in on us last...
