    New .6 rule POLL

I would like to start a poll here in regards to the new .6 rule. If everyone, who wants to do so, would just reply to this in a short, to the point answer of yes I like it...no I don't like it...or something needs to be done but not this...I would appreciate it. I am doing this as a result of...

    IBS Annual Meeting Summary

I find it extremely difficult to believe that "the IBS" told them they could do that. But having an open mind to surprising possibilities, I ask....who told them that ? What's the name ? ---------Jeff

    .270 Winchester Reamer

Sorry Justin, I missed the fact that you responded to my post. Anyway, I taked to Dave Kiff about the rifle I was building and what the customer wanted. This is the reamer he said would be the best. --------------Jeff

    Pacific tools

I have no problems with PTG. I also understand that a busy company has a back log, so I just plan for that. Sure, I've had to wait a lot longer than I thought I would for some things, but it is always on something that is a special or different order...such is custom work. As far as credit...

Which Gradient Bore Scope Kit from Brownells?

Like Don said, you won't be sorry. I can't imagine using mine without the 90* eyepiece. --------------------------Jeff

    bedding compound

One thing about the Devcon 10110 that I don't think anyone mentioned ( unless I missed it )...The mix ratio is not very critical, 2.5 to 1 by eyeball is just fine. No need to measure by weight or volume, you can if you want to, but why ? No need for heat lamps, so long as your shop is heated...

    IBS Rules Questions

HBC, The answer to your question is yes...and sort of no...let me explain. In 2010 there was an agenda item to allow muzzlebrakes in HG class. It got the required number of signatures, was turned in on time, it was voted on and passed at the IBS Winter Meeting this past January. So, for 2011...

    IOWA 1000 Yard Range closed

Gordy, You guys out there had a great range and put on great, and fun, matches. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to go out there and shoot. You and all the staff were top notch and will be missed, I hope something can be worked out in the future. ----------Jeff

why is it a DQ ?

OK, using the idea of one guy having 4 in the 10 ring with a 5th shot not visible vs. another shooter with 5 in the 7 ring...I have seen things like this happen, it is usually a blown up bullet that never made it to the target, or the shooter forgot to shoot the 5th shot, or one of the shots...

IBS 1000 YD HG muzzle brakes

Somewhere in here I read "thanks to the powers that be". Well, the "powers that be" are the IBS members that bothered to show up at the IBS Winter Meeting and voted on the agenda items. It never ceases to amaze me that people can have such a strong opinion on a rule change, but just sit back and...

    Bolt handle threading.

If you have a bench grinder, try grinding off some of the knob first. This will help a lot. I use the cheapest bit I have, that has the carbide tip soldered on. It is one heck of an interrupted cut you'll be making until it gets round, so it is hard on your bits. Be careful and don't take too...

Removing a Browning A Bolt Barrel from the action Report

I recently did a muzzlebrake job on a stainless Browning A-Bolt as well...the one I did was a 32 tpi. I'm glad I've never heard any of the horror stories because that may have made me have problems. It was easy, simple, and everything went smoothly. Came apart easier for me than any factory...

Lets revisit the IBS 600/1000 DQ rules--kind of long.

If you miss the target, well, you miss the target. Learn to shoot better. I cannot see counting a miss as a hit...this subject really baffles me. I hope the DQ rule for missed shots never changes. As far as 6 shots on the target that was supposed to be 5...I'll have to research this for 600...

    210s and 300 WSM?

Tod, My bullets are literally almost not in the case at all...maybe .060" of neck holding on the bullet. It wasn't always this little, but wasn't much more before throat erosion took it out. -----------------Jeff

    210s and 300 WSM?

Matt, I'm using MRP and my chamber is throated too long...this was a mistake when the reamer was made, but it works. Hart 30" 10 twist barrel. Chrono'ed with an Oehler in February '04, 2960fps, SD of 2, I don't remember the ES but obviously it was very low. ---------------------Jeff

    210s and 300 WSM?

I have been shooting 210 Bergers out of my 300 WSM since the beginning of the 2004 season out of my HG at 2960 fps. Well over 2,000 rounds on the barrel now, and I got around 35 firings on the brass before having problems with the brass. -----------------------Jeff
