Stiff Bolt Part 2. Pics up!!

I have gotten similar marks on the brass with a Harrels die.. When using other dies on the same brass, on the same chamber, I didn´t get the marks. Go figure. I have always had problems closing the bolt on fired brass, but thats with a whole lot harder loads than you are using. You can close...

    The action.....it's cured!!!!!!!!!!

As I said before... Just turn the hanger 180 degrees. No need to lap or anything. Everything is alright, you have just choosen the wrong setting for the trigger you are using.

    The action.....it's cured!!!!!!!!!!

It´s the trigger hanger. I´ll bet that you have turned it the wrong way... Mine came with a "0-30" hanger. "30" forward meens that you place the trigger 30 thousands furter back in the action compared to the "0" forward. You should have the trigger as far back as you can, without cooking the...

    Action Strength

It´s not a 3lug. I have a 2lug SV action, that handles 31grs or so without any noticable stiff bolt lift. But, I know of a shooter who have a exact copy of mine, who have problems. The strange thing is that this doesn´t seem to be that unusual problem...

Measure targets on the wailing wall?

Is there anything, anywhere in the rule books (NBRSA, IBS or WBSF) that states that you aren´t allowed to measure the targets on the wailing wall? It´s very clear that you aren´t allowed to remove them. I haven´t found anything that says you aren´t allowed to measure, but still some shooters...

    Panda actions and ejectors

The only drawback, is that you have to pull the bolt back the "right" way. A little to hard, and the cases land on you neighbours bench. A little to slow, and they get stuck in the action. The spring plunger ejectors seems to be less sensitive to how you work the bolt. On the other hand, it can...

Top end nodes vs low to mid

Anything more that one bullethole of vertical, or unstable in the wind. I know that some guys are talking about tuning away half a bullethole, or even less vertical, but I´m to lousy to determine if it´s me or the load thats causing that little. If I get more than one bullethole, and I feel...

:D It wasn´t really ment to be that kind of discussion. But no, we don´t have any turkeys. At least not free-living. But we have pleanty meatballs...

Top end nodes vs low to mid

I have been shooting stiff loads the last years. Started out like most around 28.5-29.2. Never found any loads that stayed in tune for very long. Something that worked in the mornin blew up compleatly in just a few hours. Then I started tuning in the upper window, and found out that my loads...

    Load developement

The topic was ment to be more like a discussion, than a "help" thread. It´s always nice to hear how other people are doing things. Often, I kind of find myself trying loads waaay to much. After all thoose loads, I most often end up right at the same place as my previus barrels liked:o

    Load developement

Given that the useful "peak" precision in a 6ppc barrel might be as low as 6-800rounds before they start falling off, how do you awoid wasting alot of rounds thru the barrel during intitial load development? I have begun just loading 56clicks of n133 into the case, and then playing with seating...

HV-stock - what is "hot" at the moment

Aren´t you broke yet?:D It I had the choice, I would go with a heavy Leonard, made out of walnut, or some other heavy wood. I would prefer to have the ability to switch barrels between my light and heavy, and still have a good balance with both guns. Much easier for us that way...

    6ppc reloading dies

abintx, Thanks. .001" is quite a heavy squeze on the base, very similar to my polished SB die. But the die works quite good! The shoulder on the other hand is quite a bit different, and I guess thats why I get some case growth.

    6ppc reloading dies

When shooting stout 6PPC loads, how much squeze is desired? My reamer is a PTG with .440" dimension at the .200 mark. I have been using a slightly polished redding SB die in the past. It reduce the base of the case about .001", and the area just below the shoulder about .003". I´ve always...

Sako + Remmy ='s Be careful!

I´ve always wondered, whats the difference between all the custom actions featuring as sako style extractor, and a remington bolt converted to a sako claw style? There are numerous custom actions that have sako extractors, and still you read all this talk about the extreme danger when they are...
