    Seeing problems,now what?

drying out Perhaps this is something different then you're experiencing, but I used to have a problem with my eyes drying out and causing problems. Especially at the end of the day in brisk winds. After a lot of experimenting, I found a particular brand of contacts, the use of wrap around...

    Federal 205 GM Primers

Gerry, Mag primers? I've read that the only difference between the Wolf SR and SRMag primers is the cup material with the Mag being recommended for semi autos. With a PPC cartridge, which I assume is what we're talking about here, I can't see why a Mag primer would be an advantage over a plain...

    Pimp my Hart arbor press

Lefty John, It looks like the Hart press can be made to work lefty. You would turn the top piece upside down to place the handle on the other side. Then take the spring out and wind it the opposite direction. And finally either flip the "racK" or swap the pieces on the both ends. Best to check...

    Pimp my Hart arbor press

q & a Dave, 1) It's so cold that the lawyer's here have their hands in their own pockets. 2) I'm not warm enough to be bored (see 1) but I am thinking of spring. I did read that survival thread and wrapped a garden hose around me after hooking it up to the hot water heater. Worked OK until...

    Pimp my Hart arbor press

teflon tape Dave, I thought about tape and I may go to that. I wasn't sure if it would take slaming a die on it without tearing but I guess it is pretty tough stuff. Thanks... Scott

    Pimp my Hart arbor press

Welcome to the next installation in the famous “Pimp my whatever” series started by Richard with the Farley rest a few weeks back. I enjoyed that and decided to try another. Next up is a Hart arbor press owned by yours truly. Is it winter or what?

    New Toy for 2009 (Pictures)

Kav Thanks buddy. Interesting color, I recall seeing guns from Speedy's web site that had the same looking stuff. Microballon Epoxy Filler, eh? Man, you're sounding more like a stock painter turned microbiologist every day :)

    New stock idea

action material vs geometry I'm going to assume that by aluminum you mean a Stolle or Viper style of action and that by stainless we're talking round actions. If so, then perhaps the different geometry and not the material is the reason for this observation (or some combination). Perhaps the...

    Speaking of bolts

bolt timing I believe the "flat" is needed to allow the lugs to rotate and clear the abutments up front. Once the bolt hits the angled part of the receiver, it's going to start pulling the bolt lugs backwards and they obviously must have a clear path. At first glance, these bolts seem rather...

Progress Report on Krieger Gain Twist Barrels - NOTHING BUT POSITIVE!!!

Gene - radical gain rates Gene, the thing I would be concerned about with such a radical gain would be the bullet engraving process. It's been discussed that with a varying twist, the engraving pattern would be similar to "bow tie", which makes sense as the angle of the lands varies depending...
