We lost Mke Rydquist this weekend...........

Bryan, Mike left the range way too soon. He hauled my butt down to Raton a few times when I first started shooting down there. I recall one time in particular after stinking the place up, we were heading back "up the hill" to Colorado and I felt lower then whale droppings. He looked over...

    Winners at Rattlesnake

rumors of my death are premature James, Thanks for your concern, I greatly appreciate the thought. I am well, although that is probably a debatable statement. The last match I shot in was the KC Nationals in which I was sandwiched between you and Jack Neary, with Harley Baker thrown in for...

    Winners at Rattlesnake

I see a couple of rattlesnakes, alright. And the tall one in back looks like he's molting. They sometimes do that late in the summer you know........

    New front rest. Pics up!

The advantage to this is that you can rotate the handle to quickly adjust the vertical reach to keep your hand firmly planted on the bench top whether you're shooting on the record or the sighter target. It's really an advantage and I wouldn't want it any other way.

pro shot cleaning rod& hoen bronze brush problem.....

I ONCE had a squeaking, hard to pull, brush while using Eliminator and a pro shot brush. The damn brush came off the threaded gizmo, the rod came out with all the gusto of a frat boy at a kegger, and I was left with a brush stuck in a barrel. Major PITA. Since then, I still use Eliminator for...

    Art Kelley

Inspirational all right.... There was nothing quite like being at day 4 of a nationals, sweating to death, feeling like you've been run over by a truck, knowing you had another 2 hours of moving flags, prepping brass, and cleaning barrels before you could leave. And then watching Art scoot by...

    Facilities at Ben Avery?

Bring a table and lots of other stuff The last time I was there I *did* need a loading table to clean guns on as I was told they didn't want you doing that on the concrete benches. Phoenix can be brutal, like Raton without the shelter to get out of the elements. I've had luck taking a big 10 x...

    Planking, Owling, Speed screwing

wisdom from our mutual friend Hey Doc. Dave Coots told me that speed screwing leads to premature elevation which causes the scorer to laugh at you and then reject any more scoring opportunities until you resolve your equipment malfunctions. I can't say for sure, this is just what he told me...

Very sad news, Del Bishop passes

really hate to hear this Steve, I am just floored at this news. I spoke with him several times last year and owed him a call and now this. Del had his share of misfortune and came through it with his trademarked infectious good spirits. I was really happy for him when we last spoke. Man, I...

    IBS Benchrest Surveys (LONG)

Banning Coloradans? I dunno Jeff, old buddy. Probably because we bathe in small quantities of natural pine cone soap, have granola breath, and only breathe once every half hour in lower elevations. I think it makes some shooters nervous. Go figure.
