    In My Tool Box

The odd sized drive sockets, like 9/32" and 5/8", were made in an effort to stop pilfering from big companies and the military. They didn't fit your ratchets at home. There were light strings for construction sights that used a left hand thread bulb for the same reason.

The World's Most accurate Rimfire Rifle!!!!

Bench rest is different from other types of shooting, but the claim was for the "Worlds most accurate rifle". This would say that this rifle can shoot to its best with any good shooter or good ammo. A true test for the claim.

The World's Most accurate Rimfire Rifle!!!!

My point is that any one rifle can be the most accurate with the one lot and type of ammo that it is built for. The title of "Most accurate rifle", should be for the one that shoots the best with many different types and lots of ammo.

The World's Most accurate Rimfire Rifle!!!!

Rimfire "Leg" match for the ultimate accurate rifle What would be an interesting match to really determine most accurate rifle/shooter would be to run like a service rifle EIC "Leg" match. Issue the same lot of ammo to all the shooters at the match, and see how they do. Maybe shoot multiple...

    stuck barrel

I have used that method many times to remove old barrels from old military actions. The P14 and P17 Enfields were the biggest culprits. I think that thru the years they rusted into place.

    wavy lines on a lathe

Your lathe may have the option for changing the lead screw drive gears. If you change the ratios, you can get different feeds. Just remember to change them back when done.

    Question for old gunsmiths

Most of us "old gunsmiths" use the edge of the wooden bench to grab the sear notch in the cocking piece, pull down with one hand and insert dime or washer with the other. Usually also have a dent in the edge from tweaking M1 op rods.

    Tikka M55 223

Our ammo equipment test requirements in a Universal Receiver or a bolt action for .223/5.56mm are: 0.030" to 0.039" firing pin protrusion, with an indent in a SAAMI copper of 0.020" to 0.025". Hope this helps.

One club I was in used an air horn for cease fire commands. Another range had flashing red lights set up for cease fires.

another thought problem, NOT gun related

But does this only apply to right hand twist barrels? Would a left hand twist reverse the rules? More to ponder on.

Interapid 5.5" indicator stems are available now.

I would think that for the purpose of indicating bores before chambering, the number value doesn't matter as long as there is no movement.

Glues for Gluing actions to stocks

Just remember that when doing a glue in, all the screw holes and other cavities that are normally filled with modeling clay during a regular bedding job to prevent lock in, will need to be addressed. Otherwise even heating the action wont get it out of the stock.

    rem 700

I think that this would only work well if you can keep everything clean. I also wonder how temperature sensitive the tight tolerances would be? If it's a hot day with a more rapid rate of fire and everything could bind up.

    Texas Got Right

I wonder if these states will still issue permits, Res and Non-Res, for those other states that require a permit to carry in their state? For example, a Utah Non-Res permit is good in over 30 states. This is good for people who live in states like NJ and NY who cant get a permit due to liberal...
