XP 100 bolt release??

Anybody make a "external" bolt release lever for the XP? Had mine come apart at the range. Cross pin came out and was caught under the stock. A "extertnal" release would be nice. (like the safety lever?)

I've used the Ruger 77 bolt release on Remingtons fitted with benchrest style triggers. It requires milling a square slot and drilling and tapping a hole in the left receiver wall. The installation looks factory installed and the Ruger bolt stop has a spring cushioning the rearward travel of the bolt to help prevent damaging the left locking lug. I think it is by far the most elegant solution to the Remington bolt release problem.

Nor Cak Mikie, I got tired of messing with the Remington bolt releases long ago and now drill and tap a 1/4 x 28 hole in the side of the receiver where the peep sight hloe would be, turn a 1/4 x 28 allen screw down on the end and use it for a bolt stop/release. Much simpler than the factory spring and pin thing. Where in Northern Cal are you? I am in Sacramento and could show you one of the ones I have done if you are close.

You can also use a 6x48 with the end turned down with no modification to the action. Just don't slam the bolt back hard or you might dent the lug.

The H&S bolt release system works for the single shot XP-100's.

Install the single shot XP-100 action into a rear grip XP-100R stock & install a model Seven/600/660 trigger group w/ bolt release.
