Great Match

Tad, Thanks for putting on these two matches. If someone cannot have fun at one of these shoots, then they are just beyond help.
Your range is first class and the hospitality is first class as well

You did a great job of putting on the match and also staying focused well enough to win the 400 yard match. That is no small feat given the group of shooters that were present. There were several of us just waiting for you to falter but you held us off all the way.

Way to Go!

Joe

Can I ask for an explanation of the format used for the 400-yd?
Watched the YouTube and looked cool...... just very curious as to the format.....

Happy Shooting

Two contests at one time
#1. measured 3 shot groups, times 4 rounds, Group agg. from these 4 rounds for Agg. contest
#2. Score contest (you get to break things)
7 shots to break 6 clays
2/ 60mm clays = 30 pts each
2/ 90mm clays = 20 pts each
2/ 120mm clays =10 pts. each
3 shots at the top target for group: From contest #1
1/2"= 50 pts.
1" = 40 pts.
2" =30 pts.
3" =20 pts.
4' =10 pts.
Larger than 4" = 0 pts
10 shots total. Group pts. added to clay pts. for Score contest

Tad,
I just wish to say that I had a great time.You did an excellent job of running the match and shooting.I left inspired to keep learning because there are a bunch of guys who can shoot at these matches.Quarter inch group at 400! I watch some of the videos on Youtube at times on more standard benchrest and there are always comments that it is too mechanical and not like real shooting.I don't agree with those comments ,but this is real shooting. If you don't aim and catch the condition changes correctly each time your shot disappears into never never land and you are then lost. Great fun.Thanks for all the work putting this together.Also thanks to Tymn for his hospitality.Mike does a great video.

Tad,

Excellent job putting on the match and excellent shooting too! I look forward to shooting many more matches at the Emert Ranch. Thanks to all those that helped make the match a success.

Thanks to the Kelbys

I also would like to express my thanks to the Kelby's for supporting this shoot. I am fortunate to have won a certificate for a Kelby benchrest stock for my 3rd place finish.

It is good when we have vendors who support the shoots so we in turn need to give them our support. Several vendors supported the shoot with nice prizes but I am personally thanking the Kelby's

Tad,
Congratulations on your win Sat. You did a superb job of shooting as well as putting on two great shoots. I really enjoyed it all. It is allways a pleasure visiting with all the shooting buddeis there as well as the crew that does the leg work, the VFD, Eddie for scoring, the cooks, and especially your better half.
Thanks again
Sam Duke

I would also like to thank Bill Shehane and D&B Supply. They not only donated a stock for our Shooter of the Year, Jason Leavelle of San Antonio, Texas, but Bill helped me put the components together for my winning gun. Sam Duke who won the 1000yd shoot built my gun for me. A Duke built gun won both shoots. Congratulations Sam.

Winning Gunsmith

For those interested, rifles that Sam built won all our matches this year. Mike Clover won the Utopia Shootout with one. Jason Leavelle won the Pinevalley championship with one. Tad Emert won this 400 yard shoot with one. And then Sam won the 1000 yard shoot with a rifle he built. Thats a pretty good track record.
