Steve,
I don't know where you got yours from, but I bought mine through Pyramyd and there are no labels of any sort, other than maybe for their own inventory labels. Of course, mine seem to shoot great so aren't for sale anyway.
I can't stand the direction pellet labeling has gone. A few years back I even went so far as to contact the Importer in an attempt to explain just how important those labels are to us - to no avail. If you're not a benchrester, you just can't understand. And, if you don't believe that, just trying to explain that to your wife. I know mine has decided I'm just too anal about it all.
It use to be every tin/box had labels on them telling you everything you needed to know, especially confirming that what you got was all part of the same Lot. As of late though you can't even be certain of what you're getting is all the same even if they all came in a single shipment. Because of that, what I've been doing over the past couple of years is to label each tin with the date it arrived, then test each one by weighing, air gauging, and performance to compare their consistency - just to make sure. Of course, it's been awhile since my last order so things might have gone back to the way they were regarding labeling.
Good luck with your quest, and sorry I couldn't help you.
Dave
