Thanks Steve.
Actually on the timing, it's kinda funny but folks at home can actually know the results of the WO before we do. We can't get the results till they go to the website cause that's where they get tallied up. I just didn't come here to announce them being up till I got back to work today.
The turnout was better than we could have expected, though we didn't hit an attendance record. We had exactly 140 in each class paid. So that made all of us happy, shooters, sponsors and club.
Looking down at group and score aggs, as always in these types of matches, the numbers are really not indicative of how well all these guns shot. There was NObody who got away without having to shoot in some really tough stuff this weekend. If you didn't get it Saturday, you got it Sunday or vice versa.
I spoke to someone today who said that there was 2" of rain which came down last night up there and I believe it. Wow did it pour, and several times. We were getting worried about being able to see to finish the last two relays with all the delays but, with some patience, everything panned out in the end.
It was a great weekend, you missed out on a good time.
If I was to make two assesments of things which need worked on in matches like this both here or anywhere, I'd say we need to start working on ways to make accomadations more affordable. If we can't fix the gas situation, we should work more on room rates and such. It's just a thought. In that dept, I dropped the ball this year.
I also think clubs need to look into doing bus trips for these big matches. I've looked into details of this several years running now. It was borderline on being cost effective back when gas was $2. Now, though I've not looked into rates lately, I bet it's a no brainer to do it. Like everything else though, someone has to plan way ahead and money has to be put up in advance.
Amen to what Pierre said. Through all the match, everyone pulled on the same end of the rope to make it come off, including help from club members any time we asked. Just everyone made an effort to keep things running smooth and it certainly showed.
