Thanks to everyone at the Original PA 1000yd Club for putting on another excellent match. The 2009 edition was every bit as fun and enjoyable as last years. While the groups and scores werent there for me this year I still had a great time visiting with old friends and making some new ones. Many thanks go out to Jason Baney and his family for swinging by Penn State and picking up what may be the best ice cream I have ever had. I have since looked online and discovered that this frozen delicacy is available to buy online as well! Almost enough to convert and old Buckeye like me! Almost!

Congrats to all the winners and to Mark King for his 2 Gun Overall Win. Congrats to Matt Dienes for another impressive showing with Big Brown and congrats to my fellow Buckeye and friend, Jeff Henkel, for a nice 5th place HG Score showing in his first of many trips to PA for the Workd Open. Also like to congratulate my WV friends, Bill Ice and Henry Brewer for their strong showing. I would also like to point out that Bill knowingly shot a rifle that wasn't his most competitve rifle during the match in order to fulfill a promise to his late friend, Harry Jones, to shoot his rifle at the World Open. Kudos Bill.

Anyway, to sum it all up, simply a great time and what a great hog and turkey roast put on by the club Saturday night. I look forward to the 2010 Edition.

See y'all next year on the mountain and until then, take care.

From a rookie.....

I can't agree more! This past weekend was a very well run match, probably the best I have ever attended. Truly a joy to be there and meet new friends and revisit old ones.

The team running the target pits was exceptional and put in two very long days for us shooters. I am grateful that this team was on their "A Game" for the match, they performed flawlessly.

Congratulaitons to Mark King, Tilden Kuhns, and Kathy Salt for their very impressive wins.

As Aaaaaaanhold would say....."I'll be back."

THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL PENNSYLVANIA 1000 YARD BENCHREST CLUB for a great match!
