We have a few weeks left for Team USA qualifying but for those that have a firm interest in traveling to South Carolina to compete, you need to begin planning.
First, teams and alternates must be assigned. Teams will have 3 members and 2 alternates. We can field 3 teams in the LV, 12 fpe class and 3 teams in the HV, 20 fpe class. We would like teams and alternates to come from the same geographic locales. If this is not practical, individual preferences will be considered.
Second, please look into to travel arrangements and accommodations. The Holiday Inn Express in Summerville has a good rate for benchrest shooters and many of the international competitors may be staying there. I have six (6) rooms reserved with 2 beds, non-smoking, if anyone is interested. I think the management might allow 1 or 2 more people in a room, if the need arises.
Third, make sure that your air rifle meets all of the rules for that air rifle class, especially, fpe power level and weight. Be prepared to make small changes if a different chronograph and/or scale puts you over the limits.
Lastly, we need to put names and commitments together as quickly as possible after the qualifying deadline to finalize Team USA slots.
