Wolf primers in stock

How much are the Russian primers from Bruno's? Six or eight months ago they could be had for about 80 bucks.

Powder Valley is a buck or 2 cheaper. When the supply is down and demand is high...they can get away with charging more. Seems like Powder Valley does not jack the price just because they can, unlike the other place!

I realize at this point, a primer is a primer. However, I've never shot a Wolf primer - are they "good"? I'm shooting a 30BR - would I use the Wolf Small Rifle or the Small Rifle Magnum? Thanks for sharing the information about primers.

Small Rifle Magnum primers. The cups on the regular small primers are to soft and pierce very easy.

I use Wolf small rifle mag's in everything I can. They seem to have a hrd cup and they fit pretty tight but I am haveing excellent luck with them.

Stanley, the Wolf primers are made in Russia, and IMHO there isn't a better primer made by anyone, anywhere. I use the SRM primer in my 220 and 6mm Beggs cartridges with excellent results.

Thanks for the information. I just placed an order for 2000 at Powder Valley. Total cost with shipping and hazard stuff was $77 (I think - they were something close to $26/1000). Thanks again for sharing the information.

$80 buck for 5000 ???

Today his site says they're $26.95 per 1000 or $134.75 per 5000, Plus HazMat, then Shipping, and then Handling.

I bought 5000 Wolf SRM primers from Powder Valley about 4 or 5 months ago. The 5000 were $100, plus HazMat, plus S&H. :)

guys,
you need to buy a lot of hazmat material at one time. get together with friends. we have done this for years at one of my clubs.

you can ship 50k primers for one haz/one ship fee......

the two listed above ended up at 36.50 and 32.50 by buying low vol.

at 50 k its more like 26.50.........
share the pain. share the gain

One of the Guys

Mike,
I hear you. I normally buy my powder by the case and primers by the thousands from a dealer at the Benchrest Matches to save shipping and hazmat. But when I am justing buying something to try out and see if I like it, I just get what I think I will need to check it out. Even on this small 6000 primer order I called a few fellow shooters to see if they wanted any while I was ordering and they didn't so I said the hell with it and just ordered them. I try to live by Woody Allen's family motto, " In my family, the biggest sin was buying retail ! ". :D

Wolf Primers (Lee Autoprime)

I am just setting up for 6 BR (N). New Lapua brass. I am using the Wolf SRM primers, and seating with a Lee Autoprime. I know the Wolf primers fit a bit tight. I can get the primers seated with the Autoprime, but it takes more force than any other primers. Any Solutions besides going back to my Rock Chucker?

Thx.
