Wish we were like the Swiss.

Two things I remember from when I was in Switzerland in '84:

  • Waiting at the station Friday evening besides guys in business suits with packs on their backs & rifles at their sides, on their way to a weekend reservist event.
  • A 300 metre range (3-4 targets built at the edge of a field by digging a marker pit & throwing the dirt behind as the berm. The range was aligned maybe 30 degrees off the line of a farmhouse that was about 600 yards back. Obviously, Swiss shooters don't miss!
