I am not satisified wth the factory trigger. Do you think a gunsmith could make it better or am I just better off getting a better trigger. I bought it in 2005 have have only fired 12 rounds.
I have a Mod 70 in same caliber. My gunsmith broke the trigger so he put an after market trigger on it.But its not a trigger 2nd gunsmith could Identify. Any how I'd get some thing else.Like a Basix or a Timney,Jewell.
Agree. The old simple and reliable Model 70 trigger and be adjusted to a very crisp safe 2 pounds by a Gunsmith that knows what he is doing and will take the time to do it correct.
First step is to change out the firing spring for a good 25# Blitzscnell or Tubb.
Then use the correct trigger spring (lighter).
I would never replace this very reliable trigger with an after market.
