The annual World Open will be held on July 14th and 15th this year. The shoot is always one of the best attended benchrest matches in the country and certainly is in the long range game. Our prize table is legendary and we are often able to pay down many places in the standings for prizes. We will again this year give away a Nightforce scope as a door prize. The info on the shoot as well as an application is posted on our website at www.pa1000yard.com. Hope to see you all this year.

Have we got any of the guys from out west to sign up yet? I need a few wind reading lessons, I know they have worse condition, so I would like to meet some of you with this ability to sit down and tell me why when the wind blows in two different directions,or diagonally why I never guess it right. This has cost me some really good groups. And i'm serious about this, no one seems to have the answer, need someone like Bryan Litz or David Tubbs. I'm not sure about the NATIONALS this year, may be going to my sons in Maine. There were some winds there last year that kept me guessing. Seems like the rifles want to shoot, its the guy behind the trigger.

I just received a phone call asking how many shooters do you think we will have at the open.

We have around 100 shooters as of now. I expect several more to show up in the mail between now and next Friday.

Charles: Are you going to be there this year, Like I said need some of you bigger guns to show me how to read the wind. I held off to far this last match and it cost me on score! I guess its like everything else in life you have a 50-50 chance its right. Ryan how many of the big boys from down South signed up. Not just SHANNON! That should get a response.

Charles, yes you can mail your self there. I believe Fedex would get you there by 4:30 Friday. Just in time for dinner.

Joe, I haven't looked through the applications. That's a question for Nancy. If I tell her it was you who wanted to know I'll bet she would look.

What a nice wife you have Ryan, New she had Class! Guess I don't have much hope of seeing Bryan Litz, I know he was at the Reade Range not to long ago. Just thought he might want to come a little further East. Read his book, but have questions about wind reading.

You get it all figured out then you can teach me. I got burnt pretty bad by the wind last weekend to.

Had it figured, just didn't guess quite right. Wrong side of the patch! Guess when you beat Mike Bower by 3" you did something right. While your in the target room pay more attention to what is happening with everyone else, and the same thing in the pits! Helps a lot. Its the let ups that we weren't seeing, when the flages were out to the left and the bullets were hitting to the right. Even the dust was blowing left, so I only missed being center by 4".

131 shooters as of today. (Wednesday) only 2 more days to sign up.

We usually end up with 150 to 160 shooters every year. With 131 signed so far, 160+ will more than likely compete.
I hope the shooters from down south make it. They're a great bunch of guys (and gal's) who show up.
Ryan, how many states will be represented at the shoot this year?
